It would be a travesty if Temple loses the AAC championship and is therefore the second best team in the conference and is relegated to playing a NON-P5 opponent particularly after what the conference did to us last year costing as a bowl berth.

Both of those situations are Temple's doing. Your conference has contracts with bowl games.

If Southern Miss beats WKU and is the C-USA Champion then yeah I could see it (matching up with a 10-3 Temple). Otherwise, no.

That's not how this works. Sorry.

Ok boss.

The AAC #2 school cannot simply place itself in an unfilled bowl. It will play in the bowl that the AAC is contracted to send it to. Please tell me how I'm wrong? Do you know something I don't? Cheers

Your YMCA reference thing was kinda funny once, but after the hundredth reference, you are starting to look like an immature 2nd grader who has not enough intelligence to come up with something new. But if you are a 2nd grader, my apologies.... and it is past your bed time.

Temple vs Southern Miss is garbage and not fitting for a #20 AP team so disagree with: looking pretty good for AAC

Agree with Temple fan, they deserve better. AAC bowl games overall are not the best, but rated team playing in CCG deserves better.

Of course Temple, if you win Saturday, you will definitely like your bowl game!

A conference being contracted to play in a bowl is one part of the process. However, there appears to be more open bowl spots than usual this year by conferences not filling their quota of bowls. As a result, expect ESPN (who owns a majority of these bowls) to try and horse trade in an effort to get better match ups where open slots exist. You sound like our contracted bowls select us and that is the final decision. It does not work that way anymore. ESPN owns almost all these bowls and cares way more about TV ratings than fans in the seats. It is a combination of the bowl, ESPN and the conferences deciding who goes where (assuming there are open slots - that is the difference this year).

For example, the Pinstripe Bowl matches the ACC vs. the B10. The Big 10 is unlikely to fill that slot. ESPN owns that bowl and could be very interested in a Temple-Pitt game as an example.

I am not saying this will 100% happen but that is a possibility.

Gotta side with Bearcats on this one... Our attendance is abysmal. Gotta get that fixed or we'll continue to take the unwarranted 'small school' guff.

I agree about our attendance completely, but he appears to be a complete moron and his immaturity level is off the charts. Anything this guy says is just trash talk.

I don't care what bowl we get in its much better than the toilet bowl prediction in the pre season. Picked last place in this conference, bull.

With all due respect, Tulsa should not be getting this bowl vs. BYU. Our 6-6 teams need to be going to the cure bowl or boca bowl.

If there are any bowls vs. "P5" opponents or BYU, those need to be going to the Houston/Temple loser, Memphis, or USF (Navy already has Military vs. ACC). It's not right to send one of our better teams to play a Sun Belt, MAC, or CUSA opponent, while a 6-6/3-5 Tulsa gets BYU.
