Sooner or later Tulane needs to come to terms that it's not a coaching problem there. They've sucked basically forever.

Act now, don't wait. Go get Willie Fritz from GEorgia Southern. He is the real deal. He schemes to his talent. At Sam Houston State he had a multiple offense that was fairly novel...and two FCS CG appearances.
At GS he inherited option O. And they just took UGA to overtime.
Man can flat out coach

Tulane does have a generally weak program but they weren't half bad in 1998.

1998 Tulane season

My Pirates have choked against Tulane in New Orleans three times over the years.

Typical year at Tulane is 4 to 5 wins. They're historically awful regardless of coach.

Tulane needs to do what SMU has done in both hoops and football and spend money on quality coaches.

As high on the food chain as they have become they may be setting the table for Les?

Tulane has the money to get anyone they want. It's just a matter of whether or not they are serious about competing.

RE: Tulane Coach
From the AD candidates being thrown about, it seems like we're serious (I hope). The past few years have been a strong indicator of that already. Maybe not to people on the outside, but as a fan who's been around the program a while, there have been a lot of changes lately that are uncharacteristic of Tulane's old ways.

More nonsense.
Name a good coach who coached at Tulane and didn't take Tulane to a bowl.
Here I'll give you the answer - there isn't one. Not one coach lost at Tulane and went on to win somewhere else. Not one in over 100 years of football. The guy who recruited most of our 12-0 team won 2 games a year at Tulane. Said it was all Tulane's fault. He goes to Stanford and wins 3 games a year.
And of course in those 100 years, we didn't play in dog@@ conferences, small college football, etc. In fact the only lousy league we played in was that last year in C-USA.

Very true.
The $$ people are picking the AD and I believe they are sick of this crap on the field, esp. after building a stadium.

Totally agree. Have to throw $2 million at someone. And immediately. He’d be a great choice. A lot of us wanted him last time.
If Burke gets the AD job (and it's between her and the #2 at Baylor), she’s going for Babers. She gave him his first head coaching job at E Illinois.

Everyone seems to misremember Tulane's new football stadium already in place, that alone should entice plenty good assistants to wanting to coach their although they may have to invest over $$$2 mil per on a proven top notch assistant if Tulane is serious about turning their football program around.

If I'm Tulane I would go after Sonny Dykes, yesterday.

RE: Tulane Coach
People always seem to dog us until they realize just how valuable we are. We are keeping this conference high above the other G5 conferences academically. Our market is a highly prized and valued piece to the tv puzzle. We are a sleeping giant in this league and offer a lot more then probably half the other schools here. Now to the coaches, if it were me, I would poach Toledo's coach or Doc Holliday from Marshall. It shows that even a team without a winning record in a dominating conference like the AAC is still a better option then having a great record in a lesser league like C-USA or the MAC. I think they would both jump in a heartbeat.

No one's dogging us in this thread (except for ECU's savacool, so that doesn't count).

Halliday isn't a fit for TU and we couldn't get him anyway. If we are aggressive, which I think we will be, we'll get a good one. But have to be aggressive: put up the $$ and be quick about it.

I went to Tulane for the Houston game. What a beautiful campus and stadium.

Personally I'm glad Tulane is in this conference. They have been associated with Houston and a lot of others on this conference for a long time. They are a good

They are a good conference partner. There is more to these associations than what happens on the field.

Tulane is building like the rest of us even if they are a little behind right now. They are doing the right things.
