Facilities Arms Race
I think we can all agree that facilities are a huge part of athletic success and recruitment. So, with essentially all schools working towards future improvements, post your schools current top-of-the-line facilities, ones that are being built currently, and ones that are in a "Master Plan" to be built in the future. This is meant to focus more on football but is also geared towards any athletic facilities that are worth mentioning!

Cajuns have suspended all building operations because they were too big a distraction for the football team.

I kid, I kid.

Where & when did you get the 2nd picture of the FOC? I actually like that one the best as it includes bowling in the North end zone. I've not seen that version before.

I found it on the Facebook page of the construction company that designed picture of the FOC right above it. They had both on there. I'm not sure where I found it though. I'm with you on bowling that end zone in. I think it would really help the atmosphere of the game.

we kinda have a Roswell thing going on at App, we occasionally see blurred drawings of potential improvements, hear whispers, though unconfirmed, and an administration that publically denies everything. Kidding aside, get the feeling when Gillian finally goes pubic with what he is going to do, it will be big

That is sweet!

I like how you guys have stuck with the same architectural design throughout all your buildings. That arena is awesome!

NMSU will be renovating its Football locker rooms after this season (No Rendering available). There are plans for a new Press box. Issue is money. Our AD plans to put together a mini master plan of sorts, that includes a Football Press Box, along with other Olympic sport that need facility upgrades.

Scoreboard touch ups at Ladd Stadium
[Image: BVBqCuTCEAAm-Ij.jpg]

In all seriousness Basketball updated their locker rooms and players lounge last year. Softball stadium was renovated last year as well. And there's talk of building an indoor practice facility which would be multi functional. I believe that's it for athletics.

It seems South Alabama is putting money into campus buildings and education programs. The campus has really grown the past few years and looks great.

RE: Facilities Arms Race
Idaho is finishing up the silent phase for arena funding sometime in December.
The arena looks similar to UALR's arena and will be next to the dome .
It will include the usual practice court coaches offices and free up space in the dome.

This needs to be done first for the dig down or getting rid of the track like App ST wants to do.
Twenty seven million is planned for the football expansion .
Twenty two thousand sideline seats with two thousand in the East end zone.
The biggest possible expansion a West end horseshoe will wait to later if needed.
Twenty four thousand with two options for further expansion of three to six thousand.

Nevada and Utah St are reducing capacity so mid twenties is probably all that is needed.
Seems to work fine for NIU,OU,GA So and some other pretty successful programs.
Having our stadium as our IPF helps and no bad weather games helps.

The renovation of Strahan will begin sometime in the spring, after BB season. YEAH! 02-13-banana02-13-banana

We will be getting new turf at BCS before next season but no timeframe on that that I've heard.

T&F, BsB, SB are all too new and unless we get a 10 mil donation or freed up monies the locker room facility isn't happening.

Nothing else athletic that I'm aware of. Someone else might be.

Is the land where the old Watauga High School available as a site for a new track facility? It's not too far off campus and seems like a perfectly reasonable spot for our T&F teams to train & compete.

UTA built college Park Center in 2012 and is one of the best venues in the country.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/College_Park_Center

In 2013, an indoor practice facility was added to Clay Gould Ball Park and Allan Saxe Field. The following year, Allan Saxe field was basically torn down and rebuilt with new grandstands, entrance, press box, dugouts, outfield fencing and clubhouse. Clay Gould Ballpark received a new clubhouse with new home dugout, PA, picnic area and outfield fencing.

Maverick Stadium, the T&F facility that hosts high school football had its turf replaced in 2009 along with the track, renovated locker rooms in 2010, PA was replaced in 2012 and a putting green was added a few months ago.
