It is a challenge to get there, and the weather’s going to be a challenge, too."

Sounds like it would be easier just to forfeit.

I don't like him stating it. Just like I didn't like his complaining about the early season distractions. This simply isn't a good team. Some good players, but little team chemistry.
That said, wouldn't you believe that it's at least a part of your home field advantage?? Maybe another couple points worth? I really think it's a non factor this time around personally. Not that it doesn't factor in some, just that you guys are heavily favored this year.
I'll watch nonetheless. 04-cheers

Blake Anderson claimed it was as hard to get to Idaho as it was to App State. But we just adjusted our travel schedule a little and problem solved

They have hotels 10-15 minutes from the stadium and the high is going to be mid-50s. What a cry baby.

Looks like Hugh went cheap on the travel plans, there are 2 or 3 much easier ways to get to Boone, including fly into Hickory, only 45 minutes away. Personally, I'm happy he took the scenic route, maybe we will be facing a tired team.

Gillin did say that most teams stay in Banner Elk because Boone doesn't have any full service hotels. Obviously, there is every major chain in Boone but apparently the Holiday Inn is the preferred resting place for visiting teams.

Not sure why they flew into Tri-City, the route to Boone from there is mostly two lane. I'm pretty sure we fly out of Hickory, which is just 45 minutes or so down the road.

Blake bitched about the travel after the trip/about the long night coming home. Before the trip he downplayed it as no big deal to travel to Boone on a short week.

When you are 4-6 you look for excuses wherever you can find them.

I'm sure the trip isn't as arduous if you leave with a win.

There are hotels literally a mile from the stadium. It won't be cold either. Hud is something man.

All visiting FB teams stay at the Best Western in Banner Elk (17 miles from campus).
This is the closest full service hotel that can handle all of their F&B & meeting room requirements.

Was he the one complaining about the new facilities being a distraction?

Not full service hotels. Closest is banner elk, it was discussed in our all access segment for the app state game. Apparently everyone stays in banner elk because they can provide meals to accommodate 50 plus football players.

Jonesboro has the same problem, a lot of our opponents stay in Memphis. 70 miles away

Is not like he is taking a bunch of toddlers or old people on this trip. These are healthy, strong, young people who can handle this and still play ball. They aren't as fragile as he leads you to believe.

If he's bitching about getting to Kidd Brewer, just wait until after the game, Coach. You ain't seen the worst part yet. That being said, Go Cajuns.

It's getting old people acting like you need a Sherpa to get to Boone, two, 4 lane highways 321 goes directly into Boone, and 421 ends in Blowing Rock, 15 miles from Boone, 2 major airports, Greensboro, Charlotte less than 2 hours, Hickoy airport less than a hour away, plus all the secondary roads, like I said the reason Huge is bitching about the trip is he made it that way, choosing the cheapest path possible.

I'm fully expecting an excuse regarding curvy mountain roads making his players sick
