Exactly

But you guys haven't even consistently been at that level to demand more.

We fired a guy that had just gone 8-3 and never lost more than 4 games in a year. It turned out to be a horrible mistake but we had a level we expected to be at, that we had been at multiple times.

Your best year is 6 wins. You have yet to even match that output yet. You guys really need that talk about goals versus expectations.

If you chase something that's unattainable at the timeline you demand, you may be courting disaster. Miles isn't the coach to deliver you to where you want to be....however, he's the coach that will set the groundwork for the next guy to come in and make noise.

But that doesn't happen in a 3 year window, unfortunately. Yes yes, we're in the South, college football is religion, blah blah blah. You need to embrace the success you're starting to have, and build off of it. Don't implode it and start over.

RE: Just assuming
A couple of reminders...
Miles is under contract until 12/31/17. So there is no need to extend as of now, and his buyout drops significantly after 12/1 of this year.
Again... if they already have a coach in mind to get over the .500 hump... Do you wait until the next comes along, or do you move on it now?

So we have to win 10 games before we can demand winning 10 games. I am positive that is not how things work. LOL.

I am not saying start over. It's like Houston did. Coach for them to 7-5 twice. They decided that wasn't good enough. Go bigger.

There is only 2 conditions where I think he is fired now.

1. They already have his replacement lined up. No searches. No down time from separation to new hire.
OR
2. Troy comes in and beats us 52-10. Southern beats us 66-17. We get blown out in both those games. I think he will get dropped even if there is no one else on the line yet.
That is what I was trying to say earlier but this is more cut-and-dried.

Only coach in America that can still win after the clock hits 0.

RE: Just assuming
I think you should give Trent one more year. If he takes yall to a bowl extend him. If he goes 3-9 or worse fire him. If he goes 4-8 or 5-7 give another year to evaluate further. I was completely against Dabo swinney because he couldn't get past the FSU & USC hump. Now look at him, were at #1, so like I said I would wait it out because now days too many schools move on to quickly and don't give good coaches enough time. I didn't like Trent when he was hired and I still don't but he has done a nice turn around.

Does GaSt have a good QB ready for next year? If not, might be tough for Trent to keep the momentum going.

I just can't imagine anyone wanting him. You would punch his smug butt out and I would pay to see it happen.

I understand LSU is LSU but if Les is fired I would be very happy for him to come to ATlanta. Pipe dreams.

I bet Miles (Les) could be a good look for SCAR. Knows the SEC, could put them on an upward path but they don't have the history of NCs like LSU, they'd just be happy to win the East on occasion. He could get a chance to stick it to LSU for letting him go every so often.

If you're looking for revenge on LSU....USCe doesn't seem like a place you would go look for it.
