The Sun Belt has long term potential. Focus on that instead of trying to revitalize a team whose administration doesn't really care.
I remain convinced the recruiting profile has been wrong at West Point. Army has had fewer southern players on roster than Air Force and Navy. I can't think off the top of my head of any kid we've been after who had Army in the mix, we bump into AFA some and go up against Navy nearly every year on a player or two.
From what you are saying it makes me suspect the AD has a tougher acceptable player profile.
Most likely. He wants games in New Haven, Cambridge and Lewisburg and can't justify a drop down while Navy and Air Force win.

FWIW, Navy has more resources to recruit with being funded by a 501c3 organization, unlike AFA and USMA. That certainly limits their reach as does (as noted) an admin that cares way more about putting foot soldiers on the ground with football being a distant carnie act. Recruits see that.
