Ely for Heisman. Guess we blew up Johnson's chance for a high finish.

Johnson looked to be holding his left arm at times during the second half last night.

Like to blow up his chances for a MACC.

He took some big hits during the first half. I can't remember which series it was in the second quarter, but he took a shot and went down shoulder first.

I wasn't sure whether Johnson was dinged or whether the scoreboard got in his head, but in the latter part of the 4th he did not seem to have the edge he had earlier in the game.

Loved the bookend picks. Nice way to start and finish for BG's offense.

He did hurt his left shoulder, but won't come out.

He was planning to come out this week? And he didn't because of an injured left shoulder?

Don't remember who tackled him. But I think it was the play one man made a shoestring tackle and rolled over as he went down. As Johnson got up you can see him hold lower arm.

since this is about Ely
I wanna go on record and say I think he is having a good season and that he is the right choice to lead us this year.
However, our defense is pretty darn good and I'll bet Logan Woodside could have had a nice season behind center as well.

I think it was Collins #53 who made that tackle.

Ely has a solid arm and decent accuracy. If he could run the ball effectively, his stature in the MAC would go up significantly. Not good enough to be a Peyton Manning of the college ranks....

RE: Ely
Is it that he doesn't run well, or they do not want him to run? Cuz if he goes down we either burn Woodside's redshirt or we likely start losing.

Thinking the same thing but he really didn't run last year either.

Who is regarded to have the better arm between Ely and Woodside? I've never seen them side by side in practice, or the like. From what I've seen on TV, it looks like Woodside throws a better ball. But who knows.

What does the QB situation look like next year? We will have Woodside, Julian, Gibson, and Mitch G. I would assume Woodside gets the nod, but I've heard Mitch G was a beast in HS. Will he be ready in 2016?

RE: Ely
Without seeing them perform under pressure it's hard to say. I haven't seen Woodside throw a ball since last year. Myself, I would say 2015 Ely throws a little better than 2014 Woodside. But, if I remember correctly, we throw downfield more this year than we did last year, plus didn't Woodside ding a shoulder or something last year? Hard to say w/o seeing Woodside this year. He might be right there with Ely.

RE: Ely
I think Ely throws a good deep ball. He seems a little more suspect on the mid range throws, but his deep throws seem to be right on. Woodside seemed to be excellent in the mid range game last year. Don't recall many bombs though. Ely seems to definitely provide the deep threat.
