Maybe we get a second shot against him.

Im confused... one week he's glad we are winning and our coach is the next "BIG THING" so he leaves... then when he stumbles he's excited that we look like fools on national television... pronouncing our coach was just out-done.

moving target... or wait... maybe just a fleck troll.

RE: BABERS > FLECK
There were some clear errors in this game.

With 5 minutes left the tempo is like we're trying to run out the clock.

Needed more of a Scott Shafer like approach. An occasional safety blitz, or delayed LBer blitz. Granted you could get burned, but they were getting burned anyway so why not try it.

Didn't see much Caleb Bailey. He'd been playing well.

The total reliance on two WRs. No TE involvement, no screens, no wheel routes, no check downs to what were wide open backs.

It was Jim Caldwell like. Predictable. Almost like BG knew what was coming.

Defensively WMU was scrambling often in the backfield as they looked confused on assignments and positions. Maybe late substitutions but looked unsure.

Poor Bailey was one on one with their # 1 receiver on the 2nd Falcon score. Not fair. Clearly a mistake but not a fair match up.

I have repeatedly read Rolle's name lately as someone who got out of the dog house serving his time who may be that hy-bred backer who can cover and close. I'm not remotely close to the program so I have no idea why he isn't playing other than special teams. Considering the injuries and some mismatches you'd think ...

I was watching the game with my Dad tonight and said this same thing literally every 2nd and long and 3rd down we had BGSU in later in the game... it was like... what was the worse that could happen... they are moving it at will anyway...

That was a route that was likely supposed to have a safety over the top... we had quite a few of those "blunders" tonight.. where coverage was mixed up and it cost us a big play... BGSU just seemed to take advantage any time we messed up...

The list of players who had an "off" night is large... I mean... Asantay Brown got his ankles broken multiple times by moves that the BGSU RB made on him in space tonight... happens. He should learn from it... The entire LB-er corps couldn't wrap up tackles at impact... Just a poor night... poor poor performance tonight... time to go back to work and get ready for NIU on the road... nothing makes a bad night like tonight go away faster than a good win over NIU on the road...

RE: BABERS > FLECK
I agree coaches bad last night. A game like that, and with our offensive potential, we have to figure we must score every possession. Even though we got a lot of big plays on the ground I think we forced it too much and became way too predictable. When they stopped us it was because we ran twice for little gain and then they put pressure on Terrell when it was third and long.

Out defense needed to mix it up too, and we needed to take chances. But tackling was terrible.

You can't play games like that conventionally.

We were bad. Yikes.

RE: BABERS > FLECK
Bowling Green's quarterback is damn good...looked like an NFL guy all the way, his long passes were jaw dropping and he did it in pre edmund fitzgerald conditions. Bowling Green had a lot of BIG mature looking dudes on that sideline. Thinking this one was won by a superior quarterback and superior lines on both sides of the ball. It is hard to be a Western fan, that said, man..the stadium looks good with the video boards, etc. so close to big time. Parked across the street at the alumni center. Courtesy someone in here, got a free ticket (and there were guys announcing "free tickets" at the gate), got a cheeseburger for $2 and a coke for $3. Spent $15 bucks on the whole night and was home in 10 minutes. Like golf around here SPOILED and many don't know it.
Small critiques but not saying I am right, just an opinion: Maybe it was senior night, veterans night, but a little too much PA announcing for my taste. Let the game have some atmosphere. TV timeouts are what they are, but wow, hard to get the fans into it with any consistency. PLEASE show the scoring plays, or even the big plays of the other team. I wanted to see those passes I just saw again, and think it feels amateurish to only show the WMU plays. All in all, another gut punch (used to it) but still a great place to be.

I agree on Johnson, he looked good - "Tim Tebow lite," one might say. 03-lmfao

IMO Matt Johnson is better than Tebow.
Impressive.

Babers inherited the better QB. He didn't recruit this guy.
I am looking forward to more football battle between these two coaches.

Very disappointed with lack of replays shown to fans.

Last night, yes.

Definitely a superior offensive system. BGSU is the best offense we have seen this year, besides Ohio State. WMU should be concerned that this is the same style Bonamego wants to eventually run at CMU.

All of WMU's goals remain in front of it, however. Win the next two, and the Broncos are in the MAC Championship Game, and as you say, will get a 2nd shot at BGSU.

It has been a long while since WMU has had two consecutive years of November games with championship implications.

For that I am thankful, despite my disappointment with last night's outcome and so many of the WMU sideline decisions that contributed to it.

Bono will hard pressed to play the offense he has. Name one player currently in the pipeline that has the speed, skill set, or athleticism to play Baylors offense. First and foremost they have to replace Rush after next year. To date recruiting doesn't appear to be his forte.

RE: BABERS > FLECK
From start to finish, the team looked out of sync. Defensive schemes were weak, but at the same time the coaches can't also make the reads and tackles. Terrell did not perform to his normal level...locked in on receivers from the snap, held the ball way too long at times, etc. Drops will happen, but both David and Braverman dropped balls they would normally catch.

All in all, they are still in the hunt and control their own destiny. ELITE teams take advantage of the opportunity.

Dino Babers calls a great game but lets remember his QB has already won a MAC championship, Johnson has already played well enough to get his last coach the Wake Forest job. Johnson is a stud QB and is more responsible for making it happen than Babers.

Bowling Green's linemen are big and experienced.

They opened up a lot of holes and provided good protection.

That is what we all thought when Brian Kelly came in and used Mike DeBord's less-then-stellar recruiting classes in a similar system. Other than 2005 and the Greg Jennings Highlight Reel game, CMU spanked us for many consecutive years.

RE: BABERS > FLECK
Every time I watch WMU play this year, I say at least 5 times, "how hard can it really be to stop the passing game? They throw to 2 receivers" Are those 2 guys really good? Absolutely, but eventually they MUST get others involved. Last night, it looked like Terrell just turns and looks at either Braverman or Davis and if they aren't open, he has no other option. The announcers pointed out that those 2 at the time had 89 and 57 catches respectively and the next guy had 15. Defenses are going to figure out how to take them away in key situations, which is what I think ended up happening in the 2nd half last night.

My other thought watching the game last night.....and actually several MAC games this week. How embarrassing is it to see empty stadiums for these mid week MAC games? The Toledo/CMU and NIU/Buffalo games looked like there were 2000 fans in attendance. Last night, it looked like BG/WMU game started with 2000 and ended with a few dozen. I understand the national TV exposure and that ESPN is paying the MAC for the coverage rights, but it just looks so small time and lackluster when you see quiet empty stadiums for all of these games.

In defense of Terrell, he was hurried and harassed all night long. BG lines dominated last night. Forced Terrell to hurry, while providing Johnson all kinds of time to throw.

Fleck is absolutely great at what he does, get on TV and make it all about him...

Oh you meant as a coach? Oh my niece could outcoach him. Overrated as hell and the media would've crucified him by now if he wasn't one of the media darlings
