RE: Franklin
Could be his ball security and the fact that Bogan and Bellamy have been much better options with their speed. Just outplayed, which is a good problem to have

Im thinking the other two have passed him by. Its looking like Franklin is a reserve to be used only in case of an injury of the other two backs.

I was thinking last night...geez a big physical back pounding the defense in addition to the speed would be good..not sure what was up with that.

Feel like something similar happened like 5 years ago. I think Tevin Drake? Big splash on the scene, and then got lost in the shuffle the next year. I dunno, my memory is fuzzy on that one.

He hasn't protected the ball when he's been given opportunities. He put one on the turf last night and was lucky he was called down. Ball is the program. Bogan and Bellamy have preformed well. He isn't what he was last year. He's lost a step and seems very tentative making reads and cuts.

He isn't what he was last year because he played hurt, I'm afraid it may have hurt him more than we know. You all remember the "football is a man's game" diatribe.

Exactly. The other hypotheses are ridiculous. If you saw Franklin's carries last night, they did not compare favorably to Bogan's. Bogan can convert on 4th and 2, is Shiftier and faster.

Im not saying he should be a reserve but that seems to be his lot on the team right now....something must be going on between Fleck/Hart and him.

RE: Franklin
Franklin has put the ball on the turf far too many times, and Bogan and Bellamy have simply been more productive and efficient with their carries. It's funny to hear all the conspiracy theories... just look at the stats. They tell the story. Bogan and Bellamy are averaging between 7-9 yards per carry compared to Franklin's 4-5 yards per carry.

Anyone who's paid close attention to any of our games can certainly understand why Franklin has taken a bit of a back seat lately. It's not a knock on Franklin, it's just the simple fact that Bogan and Bellamy have been better. FWIW, I have heard on more than one occasion that Bogan is an extremely hard worker and very dedicated to the weight room. It shows.

RE: Franklin
I don't think he's 100% healthy. Doesn't look as strong as last year. They're probably reducing his minutes to help him heal up and recover. I don't think those of you who proclaimed his greatness last year should now claim he is something else. A healthy Franklin would get used more, IMO. Like other statements here, this is just speculation, but my speculation makes more sense given the character of the individuals involved. Or maybe it doesn't.
