Not really sure you'd call his music country... Also isn't there a video from a Birmingham news station on his music in 2007 that shows him getting lit up by a So. Miss linebacker?

not sure you understand music. there a many types of rock, jazz, blues and country. music is constantly evolving. Buddy Holley & Nine Inch Nails don't sound anything alike but both are Rock N Roll

No I understand the music evolves over time. Eric Church is more influenced by classic rock/southern rock. Florida Georgia Line are more pop than anything. And the genre as a whole has shifted. But, still I'm not sure I'd call Sam Hunt a close sub genre of traditional country. He's more of a "twangy-rap".

This guy is right. None of this stuff is really country music at all. It's just pop music with some cowboy boots thrown in. Music does evolve over time, but this popular country (or anything really) is not an example of this. There is real country music still being made, you just aren't going to see them on CMT.

Seems as if #41 from USM, Tokumbo Abanikanda (I just like typing his name), knocked some sense into him as to his correct career choice.

Rather listen to nails against a chalkboard then country music....Luke Bryant whoever that is came to Lexington to winery to play a concert...People were getting out of cars and parking on side or road and walking miles just to get there and avoid a 4 hour traffic jam, I just dont get it...As far as looks yes, Carrie Underwood is legit in that department at least...

And successfully harmed country music.

This newfangled country music isn't all bad. ZBB's first few albums when they were experimenting with some jam band elements were pretty great. This latest single from them makes my ears bleed and my heart sink.

FLGA|, however, is pretty much the Nickelback of country music. I want them to stop.

The most factual non-sports statement uttered on this forum.

Well, producer Joey Moi was the producer for Nickelback before becoming the producer for FGL so you're actually spot on lol.

you can't help but have country pop rammed down your throat being this close to Nashville but there are some pretty good 'old style' artists out there. sturgill simpson is pretty good and i know jamey johnson gets some ink.

Love some Sturgill and Jamey. There are some pretty good 'Texas Country' acts too. Randy Rogers Band, Reckless Kelly, Wade Bowen, Turnpike Troubadours, Cory Morrow, Cross Canadian Ragweed, Aaron Watson.
.
You forgot Rodney Crowell, Pat Green, and Radney Foster from the real Texas country music scene.

WKU's mascot is the best Mascot that's ever existed ever.

Closely followed by Stanford's tree.
