If he pulls this off, that's 2 ACC schools in just our 3rd year in the FBS. Never thought that would happen. Even if this falls threw, just to get Miami to consider traveling up the mountain is a win
Having been Senior VP with IMG Sports DG has a lot of connections in the world of college athletics that is paying big dividends for our program.

We got #17 Missouri at home in our 2nd full year in FBS... And Oklahoma state soon after.
What's your AD doing?!
I believe our HOME record is 185-33. Sometimes success makes opposing AD look the other way towards visiting our program!

This is a big name get if it comes through. But to throw a little salt on it, Miami is not the Miami of old. They are hurting, bad, on the field and on the financials.
GS what is your stadium capacity up to now??? That may be the reason you are having trouble, I think your still one of the smallest stadiums in the league. Minus Idaho.

Charlotte is not until 2018. Unless you are talking about NC Central. If so, the assumption is that game will be bought out by App.

This is a huge get for App if it holds on. Regardless if it isn't the "Miami of old." Most GS fans I know are also growing tired of the "they don't want to play us" argument. Perhaps when we strictly ran the wishbone I could see that argument, but I just can't see it anymore. Kent St, Western Michigan, UMass aren't "scared" to play us at home, but the bigger schools are? His leadership is slacking in a multitude of ways; use last Thursday's "marketing" technique as another example. Not trying to turn this into another GS hijacked thread, so congrats yet again, App. That's a huge get for y'all!

So we have two home games against ACC schools in the next 2 years, pretty sweet. Who do you guys think comes to Boone first? UNC-Cheat, NC State or EZU? And who would you want the most? NC State seems to be the most willing and unafraid to do home and home with SunBelt teams, however, I'm going to go with ECU as the most likely first and I'd like to play again UNC the most.

I for one don't care if it was lucky or not. Who cares? A 5-time national champion is coming to The Rock. GS fans are turning green...

RE: The U in Boone 2016
Why would anyone want to play us at Paulson Stadium? 185-33
We operate a run heavy offense that opposing coaches DON'T want to face.
Like I said before ........ let these programs not visit Paulson Stadium and watch us go undefeated during the season. Going undefeated gets you in the top 25 and creates more hype for your program!
Fans and alum may cry, but having an undefeated program and making bowl game appearances will NEVER get old!
Also let App and all the other SBC schools play these G5 programs. It will only make Southern look better when we throw 60 on them at Paulson.

definitely ECU, it took 20 years, and a threat by the state to finally get Carolina to play ECU in Greenville, so based on UNC track record, cant see them making the trip up the mountain any time soon. State, maybe, like you said, their not afraid to do a home and home with a SBC team.

My desire to play those teams:
1. ECU
2. NC State
3. UNC-CH

if this happens, luck probably had alittle bit to do with it, but, lets be honest, a lot of work goes in this to atleast get our name out there to the P5 schools. Gillian and his staff has probably spent a lot of time and effort, on the phones promoting us to the bigger schools, I don't think he was sitting in his office one day, and out of the blue Miami calls looking for a game. Gillian and his staff had been working hard on this long before he talked to Miami.

We need the money from guarantees more than we need a big name P5. I think it's great for App and they also have more financial support. Definitely has nothing to do with our home record, TO, etc.

Can we try to spell our AD's name correctly? It is Doug Gillin, not Gillian.
And while we're at it, our WR #6 is Shaedon Meadors, not Meadows.
Sorry, just have a thing for spelling/pronouncing people's names correctly out of respect to them. Seen these 2 misspellings quite a few times. Carry on...

Our record at The Rock is 215–63–5 (.768).
No P5 team is scared to play at Paulson. Georgia Southern will get an exciting P5 match up at home eventually. Until then, can you stop crying about it on our thread?
