RE: Official Game Thread: Robert Morris (L 9-21)
Although disappointed, ETSU was close to a four TD underdog today. They led until 3 mins left in the game, and this game was on the road. Robert Morris had not been blown out by much of anyone, and they did take Youngstown (who is a top 20 FCS team) to 2 OT. I'm not trying to find excuses, just saying for a new program, that's not too bad.
I do question the QB rotation, but the defense has improved leaps & bounds. Offense has improved as well, but not with Sexton. Let's go w/ Herink vs. Gardner-Webb & KY Wesleyan. If Sexton is pissed, don't worry too much about it. He can find a D-2 school.
I may be the only one to say this, but I think this team in a year will win a few, but the following year, may win a lot. There's some talent out there. Let's remember they're playing in HS stadium; that doesn't help recruiting.

I was most encouraged by the tackling yesterday. We have improved a large deal in that department. Still feeling sick about yesterday. We should have won that game. They couldn't move the ball all game, and we let them throw a bomb.

I think our defense looked a little better than it is because that team very predictably ran the ball. Once they started passing it at the end of each half- we give up big plays as we have all season.
I do think that our defensive line has greatly improved the tackling as you pointed out. The secondary is slow and needs to be upgraded.

By far the best game the Bucs have played this year. The defense was outstanding. Offense got way too convservative, though.
