No, it's just that Dip's hatred of CMU is deeper, longer and more primal then his hatred of PJ.

Nahh. I read their silly thread, but since opposing view points are banned on Slappy Illy, I chummed the waters here, and a school of bottom feeding Slappies quickly took the bait. Sport fishing.

"Aside from CHIMP sloppiness WMU would be a one loss team in the West. CMU is superior"

Again, WMU was inside "the superior team's" 15 yard line 4 times in the first quarter. Missed a FG, Davis drops a first and goal pass right in his hands at the 4, Davis catches a TD pass slightly out of bounds.

Yes, the CMU defense was so superior that with the game on the line WMU ran an 8 minute drive, and being the good sports we are take a knee before lugging the Cannon Trphy back to what seems to be its permanent home.

28 points left on the field in the first quarter, another 7 as we took a knee at the end.

If not for WMUs sloppy play and good sportsmanship the final score might have been an EMU like, 76-39.

Congrats to the Chimps for that 14 point offensive display at Akron. TCU has nothing on you guys.

We beat them....usually that's what determines who's better .

No, the win is only part of it. You also have to apply style points and the transitive property of moral victories.

For example, putting 56 on Buffalo garners huge style points (just ignore the Akron squeaker).

And when you apply the transitive property of close moral victories, CMU is a top tier team in the Big 12 and Big Ten.

CMUFAN WROTE

"You have a bye week to prepare for us and you only won by two points. You're the better team........for now."

We rushed for 400 yards in one half against OU using two freshmen and a sophomore. You rushed fo 39 yards against Akron and could barely muster two scores against a really bad team. Which team appears to be improving.......for now.

If "for now" means the next 4 years than we agree.

I like their new coaches chances. It's not like he's trying to sell himself on a crowd to push for something bigger right now. He hasn't even banged out his trainer yet.

Very humble and good man there. We should be so lucky.

CMU's game against MSU was different than ours. On paper you guys played better than we did against them, and like other games, on paper it was a coulda-won thing. A solid moral victory... a great one if MSU ends up being a BCS-bowl team (which I don't think they will even tho I'm a mild MSU fan). As a fan of one's team, we do have to look at the missed opps of others, which we usually refuse to do. WMU left points on the field and even discounting that, it should have been even closer at the end the way we were rolling and to get a TD at the end (probably missed onside kick after; lose by 6 instead of 13). Point being, in the end, it was a closer game between us and MSU in the end. Both teams played MSU pretty close, whether it be on paper or watching the 4th Q. Either way though, it means little, as almost ANY team is going to play MSU close. They just know how to win. :)

CMU should be happy because they got a good coach there. With Zero running game, and losing their star WR, they still score well, and have a admirable D. Better than most expected. For the CMU/WMU game, our shouldas were there too. It was at WMU, one couldn't expect in the beginning of the season for CMU to come in and beat us.

CMU will go 6-2, even possibly 7-1 in the MAC West this year. They should be happy given the loss of the star WR & RB, and a new coach. But they're certainly in no position for any smack or wtf talk, and I think that's the point Chip's making. They lost fair & square @WMU, and of the 3 P5s, they had their opps, and they lost. As we all know, special teams, turnovers, a bad play call here and there -- That is JUST as much part of the game as pass completion %. It's a difficult accomplishment to go thru games NOT making mistakes and to Not have we-coulda-coulda-done this.

The only if-we-didnt-do-this that should be applied is for Minnesota and how they gave Jerry Kill more seizures than when he was head coach last week, by how they handled the end of the game. WOW. Talk about kicking yourself in the balls! lol Unless it's on that level, mistakes, special teams, turnovers, general play calls -- all just as much part of the game.

Thanks for the nice reply unlike the other virgins who nitpick one thing I said. WMU has a great squad and the remainder of this MAC season will be very interesting.

It got more interesting with NIU beating Toledo, that's for sure. WMU can afford a loss against Ball State or BGSU, as long as they beat NIU+Toledo. But both are on the road. To do both those things is asking too much, but I see Toledo's QB not being good all season. However, WMU's weakness is it's D. It can step up, but it can also give in as we've seen in the CMU game (and the GA-Southern game; and even against EMU).

Right now it's up in the air in who wins the MAC West. CMU & NIU have an advantage of NOT having to play BGSU. Toledo & WMU do have to play them.

LOL. I am an anal virgin.... so there's that. But if he's calling me a virgin, he's barking up the wrong tree trunk! :)

But in the end I think he didn't mean that I was one. Of course, if one did call me a virgin, I wouldn't take offense.

WMU up 30-0 at half

Is this the same Ball State team that the Chimps beat 23-21 and Chimpfool was gloating that it was a great win?

Chimpfool still claiming the 2 point win at BSU was stellar, follows up with, "Yes, it was a great win!" 03-lmfao

Several Slappies dogging Franklin. "Franklin, doesn't seem to have it this year."
Franklin has more yards than any two backs in their impotent backfield.

I'd bet money that our 5th string back Leo Ekwode would be the best back on their team. [/align]

... and Franklin was pulled because he fumbled on our sole turnover. That's why we kept him out not until the 4th with subs, which is understandable -- but only fools would think he was stopped all night - LOL. :)

But I love it. Hey CMU -- would you like to visit 7-11 again? OH! That's our yards on BSU tonight! 711!

Classy sports math. BGSU beats Buffalo by 6 and we destroy them at put up 50+.

It means nothing. A win is a win. You guys are in 1st place so I think you should worry about that. Not what teams behind you are doing. Come to think of it, when worrying about teams behind you it seems as if you are prepping for a loss already.

I am pretty sure it was Bogan that coughed up the rock.

Yeah, it had to be Franklin even if the announcers said it wrong (I had it on the small poor-quality feed on my computer) -- because if so, you know Franklin would have carried the ball more after. And PJ's comment about fumbling at halftime (or end of game?), he was ticked.

BUT, just to get the record, I looked it up on ESPN's play-by-play:

Quote:1st and 10 at WMU 24

(5:58 - 1st) Jarvion Franklin run for 2 yds to the WMich 34 Jarvion Franklin fumbled, forced by Zack Ryan, recovered by BalSt Martez Hester

I could have SWORE I saw the replay and it was Bogan... I was a few draft Stella's into the evening ... I could be mistaken. I figure that is why the next time WMU got the ball they gave it right back to Bogan and he busted that decent run on first down... I see its Franklin in the stats... but damn... my eyes must have been playing tricks on me...

Yep. A lot of things change between last call, and the 9:00 wake up. Alcohol, Desperation, darkness, and clothing can mask a lot of flaws.
