I love the nickname Robin Hook and John Creek came up with for our stable of RB's...

The real question, who is actually our #1 back right now? I know Fleck said a couple weeks ago it was still Franklin. And maybe that's true. But the numbers are certainly interesting, especially yards per carry.

Franklin: 114 carries, 573 yards, 5.0 ypc, 3 TD
Bogan: 73 carries, 414 yards, 5.7 ypc, 3 TD
Bellamy: 24 carries, 216 yards, 9.0 ypc, 1 TD

Franklin led the team in rushing yards the first 3 games, Bogan led the team in rushing yards against Ohio St., and a different RB has led the team in rushing yards over the last 3 games (Franklin - CMU, Bellamy - OU, Bogan - MU).

Last two games...
Franklin: 28 carries, 136 yards, 4.9 ypc, 1 TD
Bogan: 28 carries, 219 yards, 7.8 ypc, 3 TD

Kind of leaning towards Bogan right now?

Love seeing this as a position of strength for us.

Our O Line Baby!

I'm loving it too. And props to Dirty Ernie for cracking the RTB code.

RE: Earth, Wind, and Fire
I'd still argue Franklin. Context is key.

Three things ....

He proved himself last year even though he petered out toward the end with a leg injury and having a target on his back. His numbers context were framed on his ability not surrounding circumstances.

Fleck has reportedly stated or implied numerous time that keeping Franklin fresh for the end of the season was a part of the plan this year. Hence more carries by others.

Bogan is good. I'm a fan of any Brah from the 'hood (Union NJ) but he hasn't been targeted like Franklin IMO. Add the fact that his physical size allows him to literally duck below sight lines. The wallop he packs adds to his success. Nothing like being hit by something you didn't see coming.

All in all WMU has shown to have 3 very capable talents. I'm intrigued by the WMU staff's write up about #33 Leo Egwoke (sp?). Just on paper they make him out to be the total package. So far he is covering kick offs with no signs of getting a sniff

Davon Tucker is redshirting too. Kind of shocked that we have verbal commits from three running backs right now.

I think you are going to see some moved to defense... PJ seems to be neglecting the concept of positional recruiting and going with true athletes regardless of position in high school... I think we are going to see him move some of the current true/redshirt freshman to LB.... my opinion.

I think their pylosophy is to recruit speed, and let the position thing sort itself out. Some are not going to last, and I'm guessing the factor that in.

Nobody goes D1 to be a special teams player. That said, a lot of kids figure out quickly that they're too far down the depth chart to ever see regular PT. Guido and Sweeney came here as RBs, and both are valuable cogs on special teams.

I suspect a lot of kids know that they're getting free college and they either make the best of it or they go small, I.E. Stewart, Vandort, Wilson, and others.

Per Alan Gerould, Bellamy was granted a medical redshirt for last year, so Wind will be a Soph this year. Pretty tidy that Earth is a Senior and Fire is a Junior. Holy heck, I love our OLine and backs.

Shouldn't Matt Falcon be wind? For obvious reasons? Bellamy can be lighting.

I can't wait until our RBs combine their powers to summon captain planet.
