At one point, Miami, Ohio and Toledo women had won like 20+ straight championships between those three schools. Now all three struggling.

Was a very poor coach. Good luck to him, hope we can get a quality coach. MOB certainly hasn't done a very good job hiring head coaches recently, with MAC titles almost non-existent.

Hard to say. I talked to the last coach, who's name eludes me, right before she left and she very candidly said the cupboard was bare and her incoming class had only one decent D1 prospect.

I was surprised to see him leave and I am almost (but not quite) willing to accept his face-saving "personal" reasons for resigning at face value as opposed to believing he was axed for failure to win, because it seems to me that aside from the three high profile sports at UT most of the other sports programs are in free flight on automatic pilot---if they consistently win, that's nice but if they consistently lose, that's OK too.
That is to say, if a particular program does not produce a significant revenue stream, then there does not seem to be much concern as to whether they win, lose or draw----considering the state of commercialization of college FB and BB this does not come as any great surprise. However, it does mean that in many schools poor coaches in the minor sports are tolerated and excellent ones are taken for granted. I will credit UT in that there seems to be an honest focus on academic success that appears to be real and goes well beyond the usual lip service about STUDENT-athletics that every school in the Northern Hemisphere spouts.
Of course, ignoring the "minor" sports seems to be typical of MAC schools and G5 schools in general who are trying to be competitive with the P5 in FB & BB with 1/10 of their resources. Of course there are a few notable exceptions where the minor sports are valued such as Kent State, Eastern, (men's soccer at Akron) and maybe a few others in the MAC.
As a disclaimer I should stress that is just my impression and nothing more......it is not based on any extensive research or facts, so I could well be 180 degree off.

Actually, no programs are winning. Zero MAC titles this past season.
