Question about Radio Sports Talk
I attempted to find two local radio sports talk shows I hadn't listened to for over a year ago - 1550am "Sports Animal" and 1430am "Blitz". I couldn't find either of them. Big Al and that jerk Pat Jones were on the animal and our own Chris Plank and our sideline reporter Jeremy Poplin narrated the Blitz. What happened? Is it my reception or are they all gone now due to poor ratings? Anyone know whats happened?

Question about Radio Sports Talk
1430 is still the buzz. Chris plank no longer works there, however. Jeremy Poplin still has the show and they are currently looking for a replacement for Chris plank. It's on weekly from 2-6pm. The talk about TU quite a bit, but Tuesdays and Fridays at 3 are designated TU hours.

RE: Question about Radio Sports Talk
My bad on the "buzz". Thanks for posting that.

Do you know anything about the Animal. I hope those bozos got cancelled and Jones has moved back to Stillwater where he can live anonymously.

Question about Radio Sports Talk
I don't listen to the animal specifically because of big al and par jones. However, if you can stomach those two dbags, Austin Chadwick is on the animal quite a bit, but not necessarily talking about TU.

RE: Question about Radio Sports Talk
Big Al & 'lil Pat Jones are still on the animal @ 97.1 FM.

They are still not worth listening to if you are a TU fan. Jones is still in love with all things OSU & Arkansas. He has no respect for TU sports at all, & apparently big Al doesn't have the balls anymore to disagree with him.

Poplin's show on 1430 is way more TU friendly.

RE: Question about Radio Sports Talk
Big Al became a real disappointment to me over the years. He was an understudy to the late, great Jerry Webber who was a big booster of TU sports back in the 70's, 80's. And because of that association I used to listen to the Animal. (I have rental property I work on during those hours - so I listen to the radio on my headphones). But I started to hear him agree with PJ more and more. The thing that really burned me was when he stated on air "TU is lucky they get any press coverage at all" - that comes straight out of the PJ OSU bible of broadcasting imo. So I assumed the transformation was complete - from JW understudy and good local braodcaster to PJ media hack. Now i mostly just listen to something else on those headphones. But with the new conference and the reestablishment of our now competitive FB program, I'm interested in hearing a little positive sportnews. But there is one thing I won't do and thats listen to two local guys run down the program on a daily basis or try to use their influence to disqualify potential FB coaching candidates we'd like to hire.

BTW, it was interesting to note that Plank was a TU alum doing the OU broadcasts and Poplin was an OU alum doing the TU broadcasts. Small world ain't it?

IMO

Of course I'd listen to Austin anytime, but is Jerry O still doing those shows? I think he'd be a great replacement for Plank on the Buzz. And how many ex NFL players are on the radio?
