On Fuente going with Lynch as starting QB in year 2:

"Suddenly, it appeared as if the program had taken a step back. For a freshman, Lynch's numbers were adequate—he finished the season with 2,056 passing yards and nine touchdowns to 10 interceptions—but that wasn't enough to appease the message board mob, which referred to the quarterback as a "giraffe" and demanded further change. "

What message board mob? MT.org? Did folks here refer to him as a giraffe?

Never once saw that term in reference to lynch.

Mental focus for one. This team has quit on Lynch. They are not playing hard. Bedsides he looked like a new born giraffe on that run earlier stumbling around trying to keep from stumbling on his own two feet.

Yeah we should have played "guess who said it."

Congrats to racecar guy though. I wonder if he will cash in on his newfound fame. Maybe a reality show is in the works?

Not the only one, but this isn't exactly a bad description of a 6' 7" QB -

SI Campus Rush - Memphis' Reinvention
Well, our fan base has to quibble over who said what? The entire article is a great promotional piece for our team and for the University. That seems to be lost in the sniping back and forth on this board.

I'm just glad that Sports Illustrated published such a nice article. Thanks, guys.
