RE: UofM OM score predictions
All I know is we got one HECK of a ball coach and a team full of guys with big hearts and a lot of moxie.
We turn the ball over a few times and they don't, and sure it could be a blowout.
Could easily swing the other way, in favor of the good guys, with an early fumble or pic. Based on last year's season ending for OM and what happened a couple of weeks ago in the Swamp, I gotta think if things go our way early, they could fall apart. We get an early lead...look out!

With Fuente and staff having a week off to prepare, I don't know how you can see a blowout? But, maybe I'm just really stupid?
Part of picking Ole Miss is just reality, but I also think a chunk of it is the old Memphis battered fan syndrome. Expect the worst and we won't be disappointed.

Trust me. I get that.
But historically, we've played OM pretty tough at the Bowl. Rarely is this game a blowout, in Mempho...

Given the week off and Ole Miss' current injury struggles, I think it'll be a good game.

RE: UofM OM score predictions
Memphis allows the 7th most passing yards in FBS.
Memphis ranks in the bottom 20 nationally in sacks.
Ole Miss ranks just outside of the Top 50 in pass defense.
Ole Miss isn't much better up front, by the numbers - only 1 more sack than Memphis on the season.
Ole Miss has the 10th best passing offense - YPG - in FBS.
memphis has 11th best passing offesne - YPG - in FBS.
Ole Miss has the 2nd worst stuff rate in SEC - negative/0 runs.
Both teams rank Top 15 in offensive efficiency.
Memphis allows 27 PPG and 306 YPG through the air. (Freeze is 25-4 when scoring 27 points or more @ Ole Miss)
Ole Miss allows 20 PPG and 203 YPG through the air. (Fuente is 2-12 when scoring 20 points or less @ Memphis)
Basically it comes down to Chad Kelly/Paxton Lynch vs. 2 susceptible secondaries, with Ole Miss' getting the edge. Neither team gets to the QB so both should have time to operate. This game is big for both teams, but it matters MUCH more to Memphis, so that accounts for something. Ole Miss could be looking forward to a HUGE home SEC game vs. Texas A&M next week...
MY PREDICTION:
Half-Time:
Ole Miss - 21
Memphis - 17
Final:
Ole Miss: 42
Memphis: 31

They didn't "fold" at AL. And they did "fold" at FL. No reason to suspect they will 'fold' against us. They might not be taking us seriously, but 'fold'?
I'm 100% Tiger, but we are not at the same level on defense as either of those teams. And we have not faced a defense close to theirs since the last time we played them. Temple's defense? smh...
Hoping for a shocker, but I will not asses the 'status' of our program based on this game. I base it on our performance against our peers. We do not have the luxury of funding our athletics off of the accomplishments and legacies of other teams in our conference.

They have better players overall than us- but this treating them like they are the 1985 Bears is a bit much.

Maybe it comes down to who has the best OL ... to give the respective QBs the most time to pick apart the challenged secondaries or establish some type of running game.

Key words. (At) Alabama. Do you really think we should be comparing ourselves to AL and FL? I think our coach said he would not in his interview.

Disaster waiting to happen at all times
Yep, that's my concern. With as bad as our defense has been, you can't expect them to hold a team like Ole Miss to under 40 points.
Meanwhile, you can't expect the offense to put up 40-plus against the Ole Miss defense. That's not to say it can't happen, but the odds are against it.
It pains me to say it, but I'm going to predict a final score of Ole Miss 48 - Memphis 24.

my two biggest concerns are Treadwell and that behemoth of a linebacker. We both have great kickers if it comes down to it.
