Lines in the Sand (C-USA)- Week 7
As WKUFan518 continues to extend his lead in this year's contest, we're heading into some serious conference play this week, with only one non-conference game, but that one game may well be a doozy! Rice and UTEP have bye weeks this week.

I'll be at the FAU/Marshall game this week, so results will be posted a little later on Sunday. Good luck!

Thursday, October 15
Western Kentucky @ North Texas; 7:30 pm, ET; CBSSN

Saturday, October 17
Marshall @ FAU; 12:00 pm, ET; FCS
FIU @ Middle Tennessee; 12:00 pm, ET; FSN
LaTech @ Mississippi State; 12:00 pm, ET; SECNet, WatchESPN
Charlotte @ ODU; 3:30 pm, ET; ASN
UTSA @ Southern Miss; 7:00 pm, ET; ASN

RE: Lines in the Sand (C-USA)- Week 7
I'm really looking forward to seeing my Herd play, in person, this week in Boca Raton, but am keenly aware that this is no "gimme" game. FAU has matched up well with us the last two years, and our guys play before a lot of their friends and families this week, and tend to get distracted when in South Florida. Plus we just aren't a good road team. Doc has his work cut out for him.

I'm really looking forward to the Charlotte @ ODU game as well.

My picks:

Western Kentucky @ North Texas; Expect a blow out unless the Tops get too cocky.
Marshall @ FAU; Scary game. Owls will be hungry.
FIU @ Middle Tennessee; expect a good game with Blue Raiders winning at home
LaTech @ Mississippi State; Expect a good battle, but cowbells will win out
Charlotte @ ODU; will be closer than you'd think it should be
UTSA @ Southern Miss; Eagles will soar again.

Thursday, October 15
Western Kentucky @ North Texas; Oh, my goodness!

Saturday, October 17
Marshall @ FAU; This is my upset special.
FIU @ Middle Tennessee; Panthers are on a roll.
LaTech @ Mississippi State; Hometown Dogs too tough for visiting Dogs.
Charlotte @ ODU; Monarchs find their offense, but it's closer than it should be.
UTSA @ Southern Miss; 'Nuff said.

RE: Lines in the Sand (C-USA)- Week 7
Western Kentucky @ North Texas; UNT shows up under new leadership, but never really close.
Marshall @ FAU; As has been their trend, FAU plays just well enough to lose late in the 4th quarter - FAU snakebit this year
FIU @ Middle Tennessee; Panthers are good, but EmptySue is better at home. Should be a fun game to watch.
LaTech @ Mississippi State; La. Tech is looking for some national respect and this win over an SEC squad allows them just that
Charlotte @ ODU; Despite the trend, I think this becomes a shootout that ODU wins. Take the OVER.
UTSA @ Southern Miss; USM bounces back and UTSA still reeling from a brutal loss to La Tech

I think UNT will play much closer than many think. I compare this to WKU basketball in 2012. The players did not want to play for Ken McDonald. Our record was 5-11 when he was fired mid-season. We ended up 17-19 with a win in the opening round of the NCAA tournament. This could be a defining moment for UNT.

I also believe the last time that north Texas fired a coach , WKU was the next game and WKU lost

RE: Lines in the Sand (C-USA)- Week 7
Western Kentucky @ North Texas - It could get ugly but WKU may keep the score down out of sympathy.

Marshall @ FAU - The Herd scores as much as it needs to win.

FIU @ Middle Tennessee - MT better take this one seriously. It is a good thing they are at home, otherwise.....

LaTech @ Mississippi State - This may be LOT closer than some might think. It could be an upset!

Charlotte @ ODU - Even if ODU wins, if the offense doesn't reemerge in this one, then the Monarchs won't win another game this season..well maybe vs UTEP.

UTSA @ Southern Miss - another very close game, almost a pick 'em. Gotta pick someone so home field is the defining criterion.
