In the Jonesboro Sun today their HC did say that USA did some things that confused their offensive coaches ( how unsportsmanlike of them), but most A-State fans seem to think they've been confused since they arrived. Think most A-State fans have pretty much thrown in the towel on their offense every getting un-tracked this year.
Despite not having as many 'star' players returning, or as touted a group of coaches, they look like they are improved on the defensive side of the ball since last year. Special teams have definitely improved since last year.
If they could get even decent play from their QB's this would be a very good team, because they have a lot of talent on both sides of the ball.
We give everyone that impression.

The Jags OL doesn't do well against bigger DL to open the run. Seemed like our OLine got worse when the RG got hurt, not sure if he returned or not. I like Cody at qb, but he takes too many chances into double and triple coverage. Our defense can't tackle, they just try to bump guys out of bounds. If Arkansas State would have ran the ball, no passes, they could have marched down the field. We still can't cover kicks and return kicks. Coach Joey Jones let the game go away. It seemed like we didn't really make any offensive adjustments. I see Georgia Southern running the ball down our throat. I hope we can beat Texas State next week.
One slick move on the return game.
On one of the short kicks AState had Michael Gordon playing up, so in dodging McKissic kicked it to our starting running back.
We pooch a majority of the time. Our kickoffs don't reach the end zone.

No. Not most. The morons over on the Scout board have, only because they hate everything that Knighten is involved in because he said nice things about the Razorbacks. They don't speak for the majority of fans.

On the bright side, would that mean your name could be the Louisiana-Cajunsboro?

Generally speaking, at a G5 level school with our size fan base, the message board actually represents the majority of the fan base thoughts on the matter.

By the silly Louisiana naming "law" that the LaTurds and ULMosters like to cite, we would have to be ASUC or Acadiana State U @ Cajunsboro or else some mythical name police might come and arrest us.

Actually I think a few that post there pretty much hate everything red wolf, and the Den gives them the opportunity to attack everything concerning A-State.
The Densider was a a lot better, but I no longer have access to that forum, so that may have changed.
Love their radio show, and it is a big plus for ASU.

I strongly disagree. The Den is packed with a bunch of really old men yelling at clouds. It isn't nearly a representation of our growing and youthful fanbase.

Actually, that is part of the problem with our entire fan base. We went through twenty years of an alum drain. We just got those alums back. That means the majority of our fans are either 50 plus, or 20-35. Neither group is going to agree.
That being said, I've met a lot of the posters over there, and from my experience, it's split 50/50 between the two groups. We've got some older ones, but a very large younger crowd as well. It's a very good cross-section of our actual fan base.
Trust me, had the South game been in Jonesboro, with the start we had, the team might have been booed off at halftime.

The worst ones, the most vocal ones, are the ones that have been there since Tribal Grounds. They aren't young or new and they're patently awful.
ArkStFan and his excellent work covering the team is the only reason I go there. It's basically the Hogville of Arkansas State.

Last time someone told the Den didn't represent the fan base was when the mob was raising cane about Nutt. Oddly enough when he got extended they lost about a third of the season ticket base.
The trick is to ignore the couple of folks just trying to stir things up and listen to the majority of posters (vs the majority of posts made), seems to be too hard for some people to filter so they think the couple goofs are the majority of the site.

You're right, but even the strongest signal gets lost in that much noise. It can be very frustrating.

We have some fans who think that you are a bad college football fan if you are not sunshine pumping and making excuses 24x7.
This is entirely understandable since that is taught early and often in our state.

Put two or three people on ignore and you get a great idea of what is going on, sadly I can't do that there like I can here.

Okay, so I know this is a little late. But I left to get something to eat Tuesday night and the score was 31-20, I came back 30 minutes later and it was 49-31.
WTF HAPPENED?!?!?!

Lets see:
Arkansas State 6 play 60ish yard TD Drive. USA loses defender to targeting, ASU loses receiver to 2nd UC penalty after he spikes ball after TD. 2 Point is good 31-28
USA: 1 play, Pass Intercepted
Arkansas State 5 play, 35 yard TD Drive 35-31
USA: 3 plays, QB sacked on final play, ball fumbled, rolls into end zone where AState recovers 42-31
USA: 4 plays, Last play is Interception that AState returns 42 yards for TD. 49-31
Jags did not get a first down the rest of the way.
