Dear Mean Green fans,

Thank you for your incredible support throughout my time at North Texas.

Someone once said, “Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened.”

Margy and I will smile a lot because each of you enriched our lives. Please continue to support our football team with your energy and passion Thursday night.

Thank you for the countless, everlasting memories.

Sincerely,

Dan McCarney

Thanks for posting that. Mac was a fine man, no ill will towards him, just couldn't capitalize on what he had...maybe health issues, maybe lack of desire, but his time at my school was appreciated.

He served his time like June did but lost it at the end. You will find a replacement.

RE: Dan McCarney fired
It's weird how these older guys --McCarney, Steve Spurrior, June Jones, etc... are quitting in the middle of their final seasons. I believe that's fairly unprecedented.

We wouldn't mind if Fran joined them.
