I think he was inferring the west teams would win. Not a lot of confidence coming out of the boro after yesterday.

How about we broke their spirit!!! They thought they were better than they were and our D, while giving up yards, beat them into submission. Yeah our O is pretty weak, but they score just enough while our D pounds on people.

That's the common theme this year... People seem to be underestimating our defense....until they play us.... Yeah, we had a bad game against a veteran Bobcat team, but I hang that loss on the offense. The defense kept us very much in the game.

It was mostly just a bit of humor on my part.

I understand that the Herd got the better of the Eagles. I'm sure it was a bit of a tough loss, since USM is on the road of rebuilding back to the higher standard that they used to maintain. This game seemed to become sort of a litmus test to let them know where they were in that process, so I would imagine it was a bit disappointing to see it unfold the way that it did.

All of that said, I'm sure they didn't go home and have difficulty facing their friends and loved ones. I would wager that these guys have been through plenty of difficult losses in their football careers, so I'm not sure I would say we "broke" them. I would think quite the opposite. As close as they are to getting over the hump, I would think they would be further motivated to come back stronger after a game like this.

I just felt like saying that we broke USM was a bit of over-inflated sense of self importance on our part, so I decided to turn to humor. That's all!

It's riding on the Monarchs and Roadrunners. I think the West goes 5-2 in these games and edges the East head-to-head.

Right now I'd say the best teams in CUSA, in order, are 1)WKU, 2)Marshall, 3)LaTech. So yes, the east is clearly the better division right now.

Both sides are pretty bad this year. We have to improve.... and I think we will.

13 teams in the conference and maybe only Southern Miss hasn't been disappointing.

I'm not sold on Marshall yet. No offense, but they've played one of the weakest schedules I've ever seen at this level, so they've won a lot of games. But the Herd didn't exactly destroy a very weak UNT team last Saturday, and their last 3 games are their most difficult. I think Marshall loses badly to WKU.

USM made a lot of mistakes with Marshall they are a good team though. I think Monken summarized it best that good teams expose the flaws of other good teams. I don't think Marshall broke the Eagles but showed where improvements can be made. To be honest CUSA sucks in general but that is nothing I've said that is new.
