RE: Taggart' s future at USF
I confess, I didn't think much of USF before the game, but after last nights game, I came away very impressed with the Defense and that young stud QB.
Find yourselves a spread offensive minded OC and you guys can seriously put a hurt on many opponents, IMHO

Thank you. All the dissing of Taggart has overlooked the fact that they are an experienced QB away from being good, possibly very good.

I agree. I just don't think he will get that chance unless he goes 6-6 this year. The fan base and donors are DONE with him as can be seen by season ticket sales and attendance. He either wins with what he has now or next coach will inherit a nice job.
He needs to go 2-1 at worst in next three games in my book.
That seems like a fair assessment. During the game, I was sweating the win, but after sleeping on it, it really wasn't as close as it seemed. After spotting you a 10-point lead, which seems to be our habit (and maybe due to letdown on our part and bye week on yours), we pretty much dominated the last 3 quarters, scoring 24 unanswered points, before giving up that late miracle catch TD.
But you guys are close to being pretty good. You have recruited better than anybody in the AAC the past 3 years, and with a couple more breaks (the missed fumble recovery and the long open pass), you would have been right there, last night. But you didn't. Really good teams figure out how to make those plays.
I wish you luck. It is somewhat similar to Pastner. Good recruiter, not great coach. Close enough to tease, but maybe not good enough to keep, long term.
Then it was consecutive and NOT unanswered. Unanswered assumes the game ended before USF could score again, and I bolded you saying they did.

Are you serious? I explained it in the sentence. "Unanswered" BEFORE the final TD. Splitting hairs, dude.

Had high hopes when he boarded the bus but the team has utterly failed to catch fire under him and there is no reason to think it will.
His firing this year must be almost a certainty.
