It's basically the exact same penalty 'Cuse got and the cases were similar. I'd say it's harsh, but apparently, that is how the NCAA rolls in the new world.

However...

If the final call on UNC is a slap on the wrist, I'll be happy to light the torch for the SMU pitchfork brigade 03-wink

Cuse: 10 years
SMU: 1 instance

I hear you, but they did make a point that Cuse's penalties would have been harsher in this climate and most of their sins were prior to the new penalty structure.

Plus Cuse is P5, SMU is not. Fair? No. Expected. Yes.

UNC's were much more pervasive. Let's see what happens there. Again, if they get off light, I'll meet you at the pitchfork and torch day.

Are you kidding me? If I remember correctly, penalties against Penn State were going to be so severe the were going to wish they had gotten the death penalty...
One year later, penalties dropped. Please resume collecting your big TV pay checks.

SMU got the death penalty for the straw that broke the camels back...outspending Texas A&M for Eric Dickerson. Right after "his mom bought him a new Trans Am" he decided to go to SMU. He sold that car to an SMU team mate and his mom "bought him another car".

Very funny segment on "A Football Life: Eric Dickerson" on ESPN about this.

I have learned never to throw stones again - only at Forde though. He tried to break this story in July and got stonewalled so now he is releasing his venom

Eric tweeted the NCAA and asked them if this was his fault too
