CMU - No Excuses
Two weeks to prepare, home game, MAC opener, no major injuries (that I'm aware of).

There is no reason that we shouldn't have a complete game put together for this.

The out of conference schedule was extremely difficult this year and it really doesn't mean much. I would think most of us expected to be 1-3 at this point, maybe 2-2. Hopefully the team has drawn a lot from those experiences and can make a good run at the MAC.

RE: CMU - No Excuses
CMU's a lot better than anyone's anticipated. A real MAC West title contender, it seems. Thankfully, NIU doesn't seem to be firing on all cylinders on O after 4 games. But yes, during a bye week, we need to get our flaws straightened out, and Haldeman kicking NON STOP every day for 5+ hours.

It's at home -- no excuses. We need our D to shore up. This will be about the toughest passing attack we've faced. OSU improved from 2 weeks ago to this past weekend, but man, CMU has a great line and a great QB in Pooper. We'll need to hold well for this one.

The conference season is going to be tough throughout:
- @Toledo
- @NIU
- BGSU
- CMU
- @Ohio
- Ball State

Tough Conference this year. Nobody's coming out unscathed. I bet my male innocence on that.

RE: CMU - No Excuses
Every team seems to game plan on the therory we have to stop the run. Even when a team doesn't have the ability to run they still try to stop the run first. Dantonio said their plan was to stop the run and pressure the Qb.

CMU knows they can't run so they just threw under the coverage. My theory, stop the pass. Drop the Lb off the line and deny the dink and dunk. Play the corners in tight coverage and deny the bubble screen. Send a Db or a LB on every down to force wick throws.

Sure they'll get some ground game between the 20's. But it will take them out of their comfort zone which is the shirt passing game. Give them FG attempts, they're as lame as We are.

I don't think they can put 28 on anyone. Score more than 24 and you win.

If we put a lot in to stop the pass, we'll be run on pretty well. Our run D isn't great. However, going into it if we're really confident about how it's (knock on wood) shored up -- then yeah, I agree.

I have no problem isolating our corners on an island with their wide-outs, and playing the underneath stuff. I like our chances.

RE: CMU - No Excuses
The kicking issues seem to be a conference epidemic outside of Toledo this year. Hell even Haldeman was well above average the last two years. Strange stuff
