Yes, I do believe they are. I think OSU is over-rated too. But so was Oregon obviously. As was BYU.

But we'll see how things shake out!

Absolutely!

And remember that the only reason MSU beat Oregon is because the Duck QB was playing with a broken index finger. He had no touch on the ball to hit those WIDE OPEN receivers.

Oregon also gave up 45 points to Eastern Washington.

MSU is clearly overrated.

That Utah win now looks pretty good for the Michigan fan

Ranking teams before October is ridiculous. All it does is give the pre-season favorites an unfair advantage over everyone else.

Michigan looks better, and State does not look so great. How things change during the clues of a season.

Bummer, I quite enjoyed the RichRod-Hoke blue malaise. A quieter Walmarter Nation was music to the ears.

While I did start this thread pointing out that Oregon might be over rated, I'd also say that the transitive property rarely applies to sports.

Hence Scums close loss to Utah does not translate to a big win over Oregon and so on.

You are so correct. Remember that derelict CMU team that knocked off a distracted Darnell? The football bounces in funny ways.

Comparatively speaking, over no one. At the present, National Championship seems like a crap shoot.

Michigan bounces into the top #25 at number #22.....

Harbaugh's old 49er team loses a tightly contested game 49-7 to Arizona...The The 49er. owner was dead certain they wouldn't miss Harbaugh as head coach......WRONG

Good point. As FB said its a toss up.

My point, inarticulary stated, should have been clear that this years rankings don't imply the dominance of either often attributable to those spots in the recent past.

Fair to say?

Yeah, a lot of teams are overrated. The SEC is overrated. Alabama was overrated at the top... Ohio State & MSU are overrated.

Rankings will mean more a few games into conference season.

The SEC is overrated, but still remains superior to the Big Ten

The problem is that it took Sparty nation all of 3-4 years to wrap themselves in Wolverine-like arrogance.
