It's a bit early to be using season averages as anything definitive, yes they held Georgia 28 points under their average, but look at who else Georgia has played, ULM, FCS and a South Carolina team likely to be fighting it out with Vandy and Kentucky to stay out of the bottom of division.

Vandy has a very good defense, but at the end of the year when Bama is bemoaning their 8-10 win season, IF Vandy's D is as good as you claim, they might carry the Dores to 7 wins. In all likelihood Vandy is looking at 5 wins at best, we'll see how the two compare two months from now.

I agree with you it way too early to look at comparable stats because style of play always factors in and not always comparable.

My personal belief is Western shot their self in the foot more than Vandy's defense stopping our offense. Western had a sure long gain and most likely a 85 yard TD if not for dropping a wide open screen pass right in the hands. Same goes for a TD that will be caught 90% of the time. And 5 or 6 other balls that normally get caught. Catch those or most and it changes the complexion of the game.

What I did see from Vandy was overall good quickness and bigger players that gets to the ball and if you put those in a good defensive scheme with a very good defensive coach...you usually have a very good defense. Bama good, BC good..don't really matter for Vandy by the end of the season. Their offense can't put together enough complete drives to win many games. Not unless they start to come together...

I think if the MUTS can get to the corners (rolling out) you have a great shot at winning ...no turnovers will help

So far Vandys defense is as strong as I thought it would be. I think MT is playing much better than against Alabama and the score is only 3 points difference. MT looks like the better team tonight and should get the job done as long as they don't wear down

For people making fun of our loss to IU remember it was a road game...Marshall would have gotten blown out at IU this season as they barely beat Purdue at home..Purdue will be the bottom of the barrel this season in BIg TEn...IU has a chance to win 8 games with that offense they have.....We struggle against powerhouse OL which IU has..I believe Phil Steele said IU has the most experienced OL in the country and one of the biggest...We simply got mauled in the 2nd half, it happens to all of us...Just like FAU has owned us, BIg Ten teams have owned us in our short history..I would rather play the bottom of the barrel in the SEC then BIg Ten teams...

No one said Vandy's D wasn't good, but the Bama comparison is still proposterous, did the Tide play this weekend? Perhaps against a common opponent of Vandy's?
