I sure hope none of our opponents hire Eagle's Cliff as a consultant the week that we play them or else were in big trouble.

Why?

His stats are stupid now, and we keep him fresh by rotating Ramsby and Fields in.

Not for stat padding but because he is the type of player I want to see as an every down type of guy, especially if you are running more of a traditional spread now than before.

Not saying we should pad his stats. I mean that he's destroying defenses already, and we have perfectly capable backs of putting in there behind him. Keeping his carries down keeps wear and tear off of him and keeps his legs fresh. Grinding every game is what wears out a RB and we may need him in top shape at the end of the season. We don't have a reason to use him as an every down player.

Btw, Fields so far has shown out as a true freshman and will be a phenomenal running back to have for this season and the next 3.

Anything besides a blue helmet to make you think next week will be easy? Apparently teams can put 8 in the box on defense and we can hope we have time to do something different after running into a wall doesn't work 15 times. We can hope for Breida to keep hitting homeruns. Our opponent should just line up in flag football formation and throw the bomb every play. Monroe played us as tough as anyone last year.

I just think it's funny how you've staked out territory as the resident wet-blanket for our internet fanbase. ULM will be tough, sure I can acknowledge that. We won't be underdogs. Fortunate to get a W? We won by 24. Chill out, you're not a coach. It's ok to enjoy a win. Let Fritz & staff worry about our deficiencies.
Exactly.

No way we are put as underdogs.

Considering ULM runs the same defensive scheme as WVU I think you have as good a shot of losing this game as you do to App.

They may run the same scheme but they don't have anywhere near the same talent.

50% end in scores which is great considering no score against WVU. What concerns me is our inability to move the ball without a Big Play. We only have 4 TD drives where 1 or 2 plays did NOT account for more than 50% of total drive and 2 of those came against The Citadel. Those numbers reflect what I see which is inconsistency. Big Plays are great and this offense will produce several, but we need to be confident in our ability to get 10 in 3 plays consistently to be able to compete with anyone and I haven't seen that yet in 2015.

Our defense is adequate, but our identity has always been based on being able to move the ball. Red Zone TD's need to be closer to 80% (50% now) and we need to raise scoring drives to 60-65%.

I like the improved passing, but it doesn't have to be downfield. RB's catching 5-7 yards is fine and high % success.

As far as being a "wet blanket", I suppose it may appear that way because many of my posts are responding to the ridiculous chest-thumping of my fellow GS fans whose confidence far exceeds the realistic ranking of our Eagles who have the 126th SOS in FBS.

Since the WVU game is the outlier, what are these percentages without that game?

15 TD, 7 FG, 5 Punts, 3 TOD, 1 INT, 2 Fumble. That makes it 66% scoring, but still only about 50% TD's. What I'm pointing out is the lack of consistency in picking up 3-4 yards on any given play. We have way too many plays for less than 3 yards and that's either play calling, blocking, or poor QB decisions. Big Plays are great, but we still need to move the ball when defenses play well.

Has every thing to do with Stacking the Box, both teams sell out on the run, either we bust it and there is no one to catch Brieda once he breaks the line of scrimmage or it's a short gain. How do those number compare to our opponents and other SBC teams in general, I bet they are pretty good, it seems to me that we are not really driven on either, and usually give up points long distance.
