Not sure how accurate this is, but interesting the correlation in recruiting scores vs. where teams are perceived in the conference. Pretty impressive runs by Texas State and Georgia Southern. GaSo has 5 3-star commits so far per Scout.

Scout is absolutely terrible about updating commitments.

247 is the best IMO. It takes all the recruiting service rankings for each recruit and gives a composite ranking on top of just giving their own. Evens out the highs and lows and some sites never get around to ranking a recruit or give a real evaluation.

It will be awhile before any solid standings are there due to most recruits not being evaluated by all the sites at this point. From what I could tell from previous years just about all FBS recruits are rated by all the services by signing day. You will see a lot of two star guys end up being three star by the end of the year.

1. 247
2. Rivals
3. Scout
4. ESPN

Huge gap between 2 and 3.

RE: 2016 SunBelt Recruiting (Scout)
Recruit ranking at this point is really BAD...

At Texas State (and I bet many other places), the coaches say if you commit, you shut down recruiting entirely. So, some kids who might commit but want to visit other schools wouldn't show up in our list.

And of course, just because a kid commits to us now, doesn't mean they commit on NSD.

NMSU has 5 commits. None of the recruiting sites ever have it accurate for NMSU, why on Crimson Country we keep track of our own recruiting.

I find your comment strange considering you post on the State Scout site and it is up to the site publisher to update the commitments. I know CajunT has specifically left off several commits from the UL Scout site for a reason. We have no 247 site, so clearly they are getting their information from Rivals and Scout. No one is covering UL football recruiting on that network.

According to 24-7's ratings, with yesterday's committment of 3 star DB CJ Chamberlin, App has seven 3 star players committed.

It's early this all will change a lot before signing day. BTW two of GS commits are rated high 3 stars by other services and thy don't have a 247 rating yet so our average will be going up.

Size matters...Also all this is way too early I don't think but one or two kids on any roster has been evaled by all four services. We had two three star kids get knocked down to high two star when 247 rated them lower, all of us get a lot of tweener kids, look for some of your two stars to get bumped way up and some of your three stars to get knocked down. Any team in the conference with a decent size class now could easily rise or fall two to three spots by the end. Really just hoping to move up nationally every year bigger sample size to judge from on how you are improving.

CB Craig Mager didn't even have a grade coming out of HS and he ended up a 3rd round draft pick. Tyler Jones was ranked a 2 star. Take the grades with a grain of salt.

We also have a kicker rated at 70 who won't likely get ranked above that, so that'll hurt our average too.

Cause you know, kickers aren't important enough to deserve a good rating or anything. No big deal.
