Rockets lead the Kingsmill Intercollegiate tournament in Virginia after 36 holes. Tournament concludes today. Unfortunately I won't be able to post updates.

Rockets set a school record with 5th win this season in Kingsmill. Sathika Ruenreong also won the medalist honors for the tourney and was selected MAC golfer of the week.

It was a very weak field in this tourney, as evidenced that the Rockets moved up only 1 spot from 92 to 91 in the golfstat rankings. Still, a great job to get another win for the Rockets.

WOW, UT in 2nd after day 1 of the web.com Intercollegiate, trailing Middle Tennessee by only 2 strokes.

Unlike the last few tourneys this is a very strong field, including 26th rated Missouri, and 6 other teams currently rated ahead of UT. Sathika Ruenreong is tied for 2nd at -5.

Rockets didn't have a great day 2 at the web.com, but still finished tied for 4th, and ahead of #26 Mizzou. Sathika Ruenreong finished 3rd. Rockets played 2 seniors and 3 freshmen, so the future still looks bright for UT golf.

Wow. Impressive day 1 for the Rockets. Hard to imagine Kent State in 3rd place. Good to see Morgan back in the lineup.

Half way through round 2, and the Rockets still in 1st at -2. Kent 6 shots back. WMU in 3rd has fallen way back, 18 shots behind at +16.

Isavas in 2nd at -3, and Kawil in 4th at -1.

The Rockets made a run, closing the lead to 2 strokes a couple times, but couldn't make that final push. KSU wins their 17th straight MAC champ by 4 strokes.

This is by far the smallest margin of victory in those 17 wins. The previous lowest was 10 strokes last year. They've won several years by 30-50 strokes. This was also reportedly one of the best KSU teams, so for the Rockets to make it that close is quite an accomplishment. Just once though, I hope the Rockets can knock them off ... just once.

Reported on twitter, Coach Hollingsworth selected MAC coach of the year!

Sathika Ruenreong 1st team all MAC for the 4th straight year (only Rocket to be selected more than once.)

Manisa Isavas 2nd team all MAC for the 3rd straight year.
