WVU / Georgia Southern game
Are any GSU fans planning on making the trip to Morgantown? I'm hoping to be there for the opener. It's going to be a very very tough game. I expect GSU will be ready and eager to pull the upset. It's a 7:30 start which is nice, the evening/night games in Morgantown can be a tremendous atmosphere.

Hope it's the start of a great year for both teams. 04-cheers Mostly I just can't wait for football to start!!

4 new o-linemen + backup QB + night opener + road game vs. P5 = blowout.

I just hope they have their feces coagulated by the start of the conference slate.

I'll be there! I'm staying with a friend in Beckley Friday night and driving up from there Saturday morning. I haven't done a lot of research yet, but is there anywhere you'd recommend tailgating? Or is there a visitors lot? Thanks for the post; see y'all in a couple of weeks!

Me & an buddy are driving over from DC, on Friday afternoon staying 2 nights in Morgantown & we can't wait for the game & season.

I heard the people taking the bus up for the game will be setting up shop in the Green Lot. And I heard others talk about the Coliseum as well

I'll be driving Saturday morning from New Jersey and be there around 2pm. Staying at the Super 8 (nothing else is available). Hopefully GASOU hangs with them for the majority of the game and can sneak a WIN.

Morgantown is a tough place to play (especially night game). I'll be going down with WVU alum so I'm sure to catch some hell if Southern lays a egg.

Hopefully Southern can defeat 2 Mountaineers this season!

There are plenty of parking areas in the general area around the stadium, including some churches and shopping centers that sell spots on game day. You'll see people tailgating all over the place! Some tailgate at the BB Coliseum and then catch a shuttle bus to the stadium. There's a big lot on Patteson Drive below the Medical Center PRT station near the stadium where a lot of people tailgate, i wish I could remember the name of the lot. But you'll see plenty of parking and tailgating all over. Glad you are coming up, hope you have a great visit! 04-cheers

Haha that's right, I forgot you guys play App. State as well. I think it will be a really tough game. It's definitely a more challenging opener than many fans probably realize.

Ahh yes, the Green Lot, that's what I was trying to think of. And yeah, the Coliseum is a good place to tailgate and then catch a shuttle to the stadium. It's not that far of a trip so it's very convenient, and you can sometimes get ahead of the traffic that's coming out of the immediate stadium area after the game.

All the WVU alum I'm associated with think it will be a 30 point win. They believe it will be a slaughter since Southern will be without its starting QB.

I've seen WVU come to Piscataway NJ and crush Rutgers a few times.

The speed is always there at WVU. I'm not familiar with them much since their move to the Big 12, but the Noel Devine, Pat White, Steve Slaton era was unstoppable.

Hopefully they have traded speed for size.

That Pat White / Steve Slaton period was truly amazing. What a great time to be a fan.

I didn't realize Ga Southern would be without their starting QB. I just know last year was a massive success, but haven't really followed much in the off-season. I'm typically cautious anyway about predicting 30 point wins. But we'll see.. this WVU team has the potential to be really good if the offense gels. I think defensively it will be our best unit since joining the Big 12. I'm just hoping for a good atmosphere, good weather, tailgating and a great game. This has been the longest off-season ever! 03-drunk

No offense to WVU because I'm not extremely familiar with the team, but I just don't see the rationale behind people assuming they'll have a really good defense.

Sure, their secondary is incredibly good, but the rush defense was lacking. Just because they return a bunch doesn't mean they'll automatically improve. Same goes for App State. They're a good team, but returning 20 starters isn't going to make me gush when they weren't world beaters last year.

Ehh I have no idea on this game. We will find out quickly how good Upshaw is and whether it is going to be a long year with our o line. Either way WVU took a nose dive towards the end of the year hopefully that trend continues. I mean they had to battle with a horrible Iowa State team which I have no doubt we could beat. So if the team that ended the year for WVU shows up and we can be the team as good as the start of last year its even money. We wet the bed the first half playing Tech and came back so even if it looks bad early don't be surprised if it get close again.

We kinda went down hill as the season progressed also.

Why don't some of you learn it before you come to our board talking smack. Our program is on a different level than GSU. And that's a fact. You should respect programs that have history and tradition. When we played Alabama last year do you think we talked smack to them? No. But I get it. You can't act like you have been on a big stage before bc you never have been.

WVU 54 GSU 21

Wrong team haha. Sorry guys I'm on midnights woke up to read some Georgia southern posters talking smack and posted this. Very sorry

Absolutely cannot make this stuff up.
