From looking at it I think that is just a temporary prop to keep the leg it is supporting from damage. I am guessing it has not yet been fitted into it's display setting. Either that, or a less obtrusive prop will probably be added soon. It's a great looking poece of art. I like artwork being incorporated into athletic venues and I hope ODU includes some pieces in it's new stadium design. Kudos!

Re: New addition to Chris Cline Athletic Complex
Pictures just dont do it justice. Its bad-ass in person. Nice to have a person like Chris Cline show his love for Marshall like he has. That goes for Jim Justice, Chad Pennington, Mike D'Antoni and others as well. Without them and the many others that contributed to the campaign, this facility would have never happened. We are very blessed.

I talked with Coach Holliday just the other day and he was talking about how pro scouts that have been in the facility tell him it is not only the best they have seen in the college ranks, its best in the pros as well. Simply the best indoor facility in the country as he's been told. It truly is an amazing structure and adding "The Herd Statue" just adds to the uniqueness of it.
