Not only would there be thousands of UAB fans but either opponent would bring their fair share of fans too. USA has both of those teams as future opponents too. Now only if UA & AU would follow this example and start scheduling USA, UAB & Troy. I'm all for keeping as much OOC money in-state as possible for all of the FBS schools.
my ideal schedule would be a home and home with both troy and usa. that way we would have one instate FBS home and away game every year. for the one fcs home game I would try and schedule instate as well with Alabama A&M, State, and Jacksonville being my first choice because of their fan bases and bands. The last ncg would be a money away game.
I'd love to have UAB & USM as alternating H&H OOC opponents on a regular basis.
doubt Mississippi Southern would play you. south is too much of a threat to them because of location.
Surprisingly, we have a H&H scheduled with them in the next couple of years.
I would think that could turn into a big game lots of away fans

I'd guess USM travels pretty well to close sites. I know USA does - 5-6k at Tulane, 3-4.5k at Georgia State, etc. I'd be surprised if we don't bring between 6-7k to Hattiesburg.

How many do you think would travel to Birmingham

If both teams are competitive at the time, probably somewhere between 5-6k would be my guess. Of course, my USM guess would be based upon the same scenario also.
