Louisiana Tech adds commitment from 4-star DE Willie Baker
Quote:Louisiana Tech scored a big-time commitment late Saturday night when four-star Livonia senior defensive end Will Baker pledged to the Bulldogs.

The 6-foot-4, 225-pound Baker chose Louisiana Tech over offers from Arizona State, Arkansas, Kansas, Louisville, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Tennessee, Texas A&M and Tulane among others.

However what it boiled down to was Baker simply didn't want to leave Louisiana.

"That mean a lot to me, staying inside Louisiana," Baker said. "I like rural areas. It was kind of perfrect where Louisiana Tech is act. I feel like their program is on the come up. I feel they can make something happen.

For the typo, obviously. The other might have been a direct quote of what the kid said. Dunno

Honestly, the amount of grammatical/typographical errors makes me think he submitted a written statement or gave answers via text.

Rare win. I heard Jeff Driskel (Florida) and Paul Turner (LSU) had a talk with him about all the toys at the big schools vs the right fit.

Hadn't considered that, but you're probably right. Regardless, Tech looks like a good fit for him so you guys got a good one!04-cheers

Tech's new facility upgrades didn't hurt, either.

Quote:The athletic department is putting the finishing touches on a new $22 million south end zone facility, which is now known as the Davison Athletics Complex. Tech also added a new turf field earlier this summer to compliment the facility when it debuts Sept. 5 for the season opener against Southern.

"The program is really on the come up," Baker said. "All the facilities are big time. I pretty much compare it with other big colleges like two SEC colleges. I just really felt like being around that will help me succeed myself.

"The new facilities are really going to help the team a lot and the football program. It makes the place look totally different. And the inside of it and the locker room, the new weight room, all that pitches in to making the team better."

Baker said he has visited Auburn, LSU and Texas A&M, and he noted how Tech now has comparable facilities to all three.

FYI......

Any links to some decent photos of the interior? If it's almost finished there should be some good shots posted somewhere.

I expect a large crowd for both in state games this year. I think the Cajuns should travel well here.
