Tech's new facility upgrades didn't hurt, either.
Quote:The athletic department is putting the finishing touches on a new $22 million south end zone facility, which is now known as the Davison Athletics Complex. Tech also added a new turf field earlier this summer to compliment the facility when it debuts Sept. 5 for the season opener against Southern.
"The program is really on the come up," Baker said. "All the facilities are big time. I pretty much compare it with other big colleges like two SEC colleges. I just really felt like being around that will help me succeed myself.
"The new facilities are really going to help the team a lot and the football program. It makes the place look totally different. And the inside of it and the locker room, the new weight room, all that pitches in to making the team better."
Baker said he has visited Auburn, LSU and Texas A&M, and he noted how Tech now has comparable facilities to all three.
FYI......
Any links to some decent photos of the interior? If it's almost finished there should be some good shots posted somewhere.

I just looked on Rivals and they had Baker as a 3-star. It amazes me that recruits seem to lose a star rating by picking a G5 school instead of a P5 school.

He's been a 3-star on rivals. Rivals started giving less 3 and 4 stars last year.

Kudos to la Tech. If MT ever signs a 4 star (other than a transfer) straight out of high school; it will be a sign that the apocalypse is about to occur.

Very very nice indeed, though one of your fans owes me an apology for when I commented that the front section didn't look wide enough to be a weight room. He called me an idiot and said it was a hallway or something comparable. And yes, I understand that it's not the complete weight room.

I think the building itself which cost $14mil caught his eye more than the fluff and stuff.

There isnt any new angle nor should their be. Dont matter what price tag they put on the SEZ project the building itself only cost $14mil. They have added fluff and puff and breezeways and lofts and walkways and stairwells and parking lots and other stuff but that is separate and apart from the fact the bldg itself was $14mil. Whats the big deal?

Sadly I think it's a bigger deal for you than us Tech fans - doesn't USM have something positive going on for you post about? USM should have a pretty good team this year and surely your time could be better spent on that.
No that it matters but if all I had to do with my time was to make negative posts about a school I would hope that I would take a long look in mirror and try to find a real life EE
