Confidence high in the AAC
here are actual quotes or paraphrasing of expectations each head coach has for their team and how the see them

Tubberville (UC): "Best talent & experience I've seen in my 20-year coaching career."

Rhule (Temple): This will be a special year for temple

O'Leary (UCF): We dont rebuild we reload

Diaco (UConn): We are going undefeated and winning a national title

Morris (SMU): We will be the biggest turn around in college football

Taggart (USF): there are no more excuses, we will win a lot of games this year

Fuentes (Memphis): I feel confident in the team

Herman (Houston): we will be one of the most physical teams in the nation

McNeill (ECU): we reload our guys will be ready to play

Johnson (Tulane): this team is much improved, we can make a bowl

Montgomery (Tulsa): our players are special, we are going to be respectable in the conference and hope to be competing for it all in the end

Niumatalolo (Navy): wants to win, thinks they can win but admits its a new frontier

our coaches are unusally optimistic about their teams. last year was alot of downplaying or saying they were going to be bad without saying it directly (ie. "we just want to work on the fundamentals this year")

someone's bubble will burst (especially in the east) but im hoping it doesn't happen till conference play

I will say this...UC is loaded on offense. It is one of the deepest receiving corps I've ever seen.

If we had a defense of note we would be scary.....

The defense had looked really good in camp.

that is what I saw over and over again in the premium content on UC247 and I'm happy to hear it. If that translates to the regular season games we may have another very special year in the making! I didn't want to get my hopes up though.

If the tubbs quote is accurate he is certifiably batshit crazy. Off the rails

2004 was less than 20 years ago

I think this could be the best defense we've had under Ruff and the best OL under Ruff. All depends on Benkert.

I think that the AAC is improving every year in basketball and football, now even baseball. Great TV exposure. Just keep us off ESPN 3!

I remember Tuberville saying this about his receivers. Not the entire team.

It would be a really BAD sign if people were not high on their team at this point.

RE: Confidence high in the AAC
I think that last year was a down year for the conference and expect big things this year from my AAC brethren.... but UConn going undefeated is not one of them. 04-cheers
