I guess we shouldn't be surprised. I mean if their adminstration and coaches all think the same way I guess it all makes sense. Though we've both had 10 there is one big difference between wkcc and MT.
At Middle Tennesee, they are almost always kicked off the team and often dismissed from school. At Western, the walkons are given scholarships, the backups are promised starting roles and the starters are promoted by the school as "All-Americans." I embelish of course, but when you have felons or multiple offenders suffer little to no punishment by the school the athletics programs are basically sending a message they condone it...and it would seem some western fans are too.
Lets be fair now...
it took the following before J.D. Jones was kicked off the team
First in early 2012 he dragged a girl by the hair
second in Nov 2012 he choked a girl from behind
third in May 2013he choked her out again and threw a football at her for not paying for his pot
It took the leaked video on the last choking to get him kicked off the team. Along with 2 teammates that not only did nothing to stop this assault...
they video it with play by play action
Kind of different than a college kid getting drunk?
I'm sorry I posted to soon...J.D. Jones was already on probation (and playing for muts) for theft conviction the year before. So it took getting caught and a gui;ty plea for stealing and thee assaults
But I really didn't see any excuses by Western fans.

MURFREESBORO, TN (WSMV) -
Five current and former Middle Tennessee State football players are in trouble after they were accused of involvement in a brawl at a Murfreesboro bar.
Officers were called Saturday night to a bar on Main Street after reports of several people fighting.
The night ended with those players in handcuffs and now facing charges.
Police say former player Anthony Amos and current redshirt sophomore Jared Singletary were arrested for disorderly conduct.
Jerrold Frazier is charged with assaulting an officer and resisting a frisk.
Police say Marcus Henry was also being disorderly and tried to evade arrest.
And sophomore Adam Stickel is charged with underage drinking, disorderly conduct and public intoxication.
MTSU head football coach Rick Stockstill released a statement, saying, "This is not the reflection of our football program we want at Middle Tennessee, and we will react accordingly after gathering all the information."
Jared Singletary was on the team a year later and so was Adam Stickel & Marcus Henry
Travis Lilienthal, an offensive lineman, was charged with two counts of aggravated burglary and two counts of theft by MTSU Police Detective Brett Huskey.
In his arrest warrant, Huskey accused Lilienthal of breaking into rooms on MTSU Boulevard occupied by freshman quarterback Brent Burnette and roommate Thomas McLeroy.
A witness told Huskey Lilienthal took the property by entering the rooms without permission and taking property. The witness told Huskey where to find the stolen property.
When he searched, Huskey found the stolen property at an undisclosed location.
Lilienthal turned himself into the sheriff’s office Monday night where he was released on bond. A hearing is set May 5 in General Sessions Court.
This is his second burglary charge in five months. Lilienthal was charged with auto burglary, public intoxication and consumption of alcohol under age 21 in December by Murfreesboro Police Officer James Smith.
In an MTSU Athletics press release, Middle Tennessee Head Coach Rick Stockstill announced today Lilienthal was dismissed from the team due to violation of team rules.
I guess you need to get caught stealing TWICE before you are shown the door at muts
Two Middle Tennessee State players arrested on Gun charges
A fall court date has been set for two MTSU football players arrested in July on charges of underage drinking and handgun possession. The Blue Raider offensive linemen Franklin Dunbar, Jr. and Darrell Howard will appear in General Sessions Court Oct. 2.
They were arrested July 23 after a fight broke out at Elk Lodge on Halls Hill Pike. The impending trial has not affected the morale of the team, according to head football coach Rick Stockstill."We disciplined them on the information that we have at this point," Stockstill said. "It's not something that we're taking lightly in any form or fashion."
Mark Owens, who handles media relations for MTSU football, said Dunbar and Howard's reprimand included running laps beginning at 6:00 a.m. As of now, they will be playing in today's game against Florida International.
