Culpepper was a finalist. Blake Bortles would of had a legit shot if he came back his senior year. The east on most years will just be better like it was in the C-USA days.

Tulsa should have had one, but they do have two runner ups...

We did have a rush record leader but he didn't win the popularity contest for a better heisman finish. He wasn't going to beat Tebow though.

Temple RB Paul Palmer was the runner up to Vinny Testaverde in 1986. Jim Harbaugh was 3rd.

What about Lombardi Trophies?

How about alumni currently active in the NFL?

Four in the West and Zero in the East. Clearly the West is the representative of the conference's history and tradition. Important.

How many schools in the East have received the NCAA "death penalty" or have had to vacate a NCAA "Final Four" appearance for mass violations?

Damn they made movies and wrote books about us. Also helped our academic side go from the 150's to the 50's

Kevin smith didn't win the doak walker despite outrunning McFadden that year. It's a popularity contest, always has been always will be.

Even worse he was not 1st team AP All American, I don't think. I believe he lost out to a running back from Oregon State for one of those spots.
