RE: Best college football team in each state (CBSSports)
NCSU is going to startout hot because as usual their OOC schedule is a joke. I actually think Duke is a fraud. They face a team with a capable passing attack and it's struggletown USA. See their game against UNC last year. Duke will miss Crowder, more than we miss Hardy. Not that I think Crowder is better necessarily, but I think he meant more to them. I think there is a really good chance Duke has a losing season this year.

They are picking the best football team for the 2015 season. What does us beating UNC last year or State 2 years ago have to do with that?

State and Duke will both have better years than ECU so I dont see the problem here

That is total speculation

The whole map is speculation on who will be the best team in each state in 2015. If state is speculated to be better than us why should they pick us to be the best team in nc? Just because we beat them 2 years ago?

Connecticut: UConn -- The Huskies are the only program in the state, which is why they had to try and fabricate a rivalry with UCF -- unbeknown to the Golden Knights.

Memphis did get a mention 03-wink >

Tennessee: Tennessee -- If only we'd done this exercise two years ago, when we'd have had that rarest of joys: declaring Vanderbilt the best team in the state ... and being right about it. But the Franklin era seems well and truly behind the 'Dores, just as the Butch Jones era in Knoxville (not to mention the Justin Fuente era in Memphis) seems to just be getting started. The fact that Memphis even gets mentioned here is a credit to Fuente.

12,000+ posts and the team (UCF) that has beat Memphis 9 in a row and you still haven't figured out that they are the Knights and haven't been called "golden" since before they started that nine game winning streak. Wake up Rip Vanwinkle, there is a whole world outside of little old provincial Memphis city limits.
Is that a world where programs can have success in football AND basketball? 05-stirthepot

I bet someone loves the ACC and Triangle schools. Anyway this is why we have to have at least one NC ACC team on our schedule each year to state our place.

First of all State is once again a mediocre P5 team. Will be lucky to win more than 7 games even with a joke of a non conference schedule.

Second of all you cant freaking say Duke will have a better season because we are in the exact same damn posistion (which is still better than state, and most likely UNC)

I can't stand the acc teams in football and especially basketball. I just understand this map is predicting the best team in nc for 2015 and not games that were played 2 years ago

Did state not win 8 last year? And are projected to be even better this year? On paper they should have a better team than us this season. No shame in that, let's prove it on the field

6 of which came against either a FCS team or a 100+ FBS team. ECU would've put 40+ on them again.

It's kinda damn hard to prove it on the field when they wont ******* play you

GA Southern also had them beat and fumbled on the goal line. Really changed their season.

The fact that consideration wasn't even given to us.

I think Duke may be the best team as well. Duke has something that no other team in the state has: discipline from beginning to end in a game.

Teams that tie for 4th in a meh AAC will not get much consideration.

1) Memphis still gets called Memphis State by most folks over the age of 50 simply because older folks are set in their ways...you guys will be dealing with the 'golden' thing for awhile...

2) Memphis doesn't judge itself based on how we do against UCF, and why should we? We don't play UCF or ECU for awhile.

3) from 09-2011, Memphis went 5-31...you sure as hell won't make me upset about Memphis having a great season, and looking right at another great season.

4) Tampa > Orlando

Good day.
