They are claiming they will reopen tomorrow but with bricks falling (and have been for a while now apparently) this may carry on into Football season. Hopefully not but be prepared to change any plans revolving CAH if it does.

We have one of those in Columbus. Went twice, and the food sucked both times. I hope a chain sports bar next to a Pier One isn't the coolest hangout in Greenville...

It's right by the stadium and where a lot of non permit parking is near so it's in a very convenient location.

Gotcha. I was just thinking Greenville had watering holes near the stadium with more history (which I'm sure you do).

There are. It's like south carolina, they have a Bojangles literally 200 feet from their stadium, and it's always packed on Saturdays. CAH isn't that close, but it is around a lot of tailgating and it's just a convinent little stop

And Mellow Mushroom, which lets be honest Mellow Mushroom > CAH.

Also on WITN's Facebook post a user tried to claim ECU got the lease to the Kmart building for more stadium parking and that's why they are closing. I called BS but anyone else hear about this? I personally think it was just time for the already downsizing company to remodel the building and they decided to close the low grossing location instead.

Not sure but I'm really considering the $10 ticket deal they are doing. Cincy, the Thursday night game, and homecoming are in the lead. Va Tech was already sold out by the time I got to check.

Greenville is coming around, but it is and has been inundated with chain restaurants. It is an outpost for the eastern part of the state so thousands of people come into Greenville from outlying areas for dinner and shopping. Those folks most likely head for a chain spot, but the city is finally over the hump and some very good local spots are finally taking root. The area most adjacent to the stadium though is residential so the watering holes aren't quite walkable on game day.

Professor O'Coole's is fairly close and walkable for most. It is a true local sports bar with pretty good food.

Ale House is overrated and overpriced. Hate to see it condemned, though. It employs a lot of folks and people seem to like it.

Why is this on the AAC board? They're closing for one night to repair some masonry. Not a huge news story really.

Cause when break is falling it has potential to be longer than "one night" and with football season a month away any extended down time could affect plans of fans attending the games.

I do believe I said this in the first post but you must've not read that as you're asking something I already explained...

They reopened at 5 PM but only because they only pulled away loose break and haven't replaced anything yet. So yeah like the Big 12...

Carolina Ale House is cool looking but very chain / microwave food not good at all. But the rednecks shore do love it in town. They make a killing and have a long wait. Nice second floor patio bar that's pretty cool except you overlook Greenville Blvd. Should have been built downtown....
