Something seems off about the 4.9 number. Hard for me to believe a guy gets multiple FBS offers at WR running that 40 time.

Can't be right. 4.9 is slow for a D-II WR.

Law's highlights can be found here: http://www.hudl.com/profile/4209889/drayton-law

I'm sure he runs faster than a 4.9. Hard to believe any D-I team would take a receiver that slow. That being said, watch his highlights. He looks slow. No breakaway speed. Not enough speed to get separation. Mainly uses his big frame to reach up over the defender. Nothing impressive about this kid.

Lay off the kid. Look, I want MAC teams to recruit well and to beat teams in other conferences. We need it. It helps a top MAC team like WMU gain an occasional invite to the Cotton Bowl instead of being stuck at the Potato Bowl year after year. Do not lose sight of the fact that this is a young man heading off to college, not some overpaid, underacheiving pro athlete. And who knows, maybe he has a little brother who will end up in Kalamazoo, setting NCAA records!

I didn't say he was a bad person or that he's a piece of crap for going to CMU.

I watched his tape and didn't see anything special. Who knows? I could be wrong and he might be the next Antonio Brown or Randy Moss. This is a football forum so I'm talking football.

RE: Official Recruiting Thread - 2017
Give me a break. If Law committed here as a 5.6 3 star Rivals rated player, you all would be drooling over his tape. I doubt we would be calling him the next Randy Moss, but you would almost all talk about what a great get he is for Lester. Hell, we got guys sitting here talking about what a great job he did getting a bunch of guys from Menonimee or guys with just one other FBS offer. It's the type of thing we've been laughing at CMU about for years.

Give them their due. He has multiple FBS offers, he isn't speedy, but looks at least like a 1st down and Red Zone weapon to be dealt with.

RE: Official Recruiting Thread - 2017
I've questioned some of our commits as well. To say the least, there are a number of "projects" in our class. Not that it's a particularly bad thing. Upside and all that.

I like most of our class considering the time Lester and company had to put it together. I try to remain objective. There are guys in CMU's class I would've liked to get, and there are guys in our class that have me scratching my head. Overall I like our class better, though, especially considering the time constraints placed on the staff. Bodes well for what they will be able to do with a full recruiting cycle.

Law isn't one of the top 5 recruits in CMU's class. I'll give CMU props when it's called for. Law isn't one of those guys.
