With this game, NMSU will make 2.8 Million next year playing Kentucky (1.3) and Texas A&M (1.5).

That's not happening. KY is a team to watch for. They've had a couple nice recruiting classes, I'm talking top 30 classes.

Never said it was happening. ... . Said that IMO, they've got a better shot at surprising Kentucky than they do TX A&M ... .

NMSU should have a good team next year. Anything is possible. NMSU in 1999 upset a top 25 Arizona State. So... Again, anything is possible.

So much for Benson's idea of less money games.

Ya, that's crossed my mind.

Our AD sez he would rather only play one per year so will see if both games remain.

I think the no $$ games will apply more stringently to the consensus upper tier teams
that have a more legitimate chance of going undefeated.

Until the Aggies join that group, I expect at least 1.

That's probably true for most schools, though, especially if anyone's gonna pay 'cost of attendance'.

The thing is, they don't play an FCS game. It is smart scheduling. Two money games totaling $2.8 million. A home game against New Mexico that will draw about 25,000 and a 45 minute bus trip to El Paso for a game against UTEP. Benson would have a hard time arguing against that schedule.

Now go out and win 3 out of 4, I'll be rooting for you. We really need, as a conference, to win more OOC games then we lose.
