RE: 2015 Pre-Season USA Today Coaches Poll
Because I go buy recruiting only I'll go with the best roster based on 4-Year SBC Recruiting Rankings per 247 composite rankings.

1. stAte
2. ULL
3. TXST
4. USA
5. Troy
6. GS
7. App
8. NMS
9. ULM
10. Idaho
11. GST

http://www.sbnation.com/college-football...ball-teams

I use 5 years to determine who has the best roster of talent ,then adjust as best I can for attrition, and additions that don't get added to the national sites 247 uses in their composite rankings but A-State is #1 regardless . A-State is simply the most talented team in the SBC.

Not sure about their coaches based on last year.

A-State fans should be excited that after nearly half a decade of starting over every year, by retaining their entire staff they finally have a chance to showcase the talent they have on their roster.

Not looking at me at all. Actually any credible source will will agree which SBC team has the most talent, and it is not as close as the coaching turmoil has made it appear.

Georgia Southern might win in Boone, but Jayson Foster would have to be eligible again.

Can't do much with talent when your coach is soft and treats practice like summer camp.

He has some very unusual ideas, maybe even flaky, about a lot of things that is for sure, and may have hurt the team, more than help last year.

The biggest issues the A-State fans I have talked to have are that the coaches were not very aggressive, or successful in correcting the d-line ( and the center position on the OL, and FG kicking) issues, going into this past year and it cost them big-time. Their DL JC signee was a total bust (as was their JC signee at center), and their top freshman DL signee (who was not that highly touted anyway) was not eligible, so they really did essentially nothing to fix obvious problems. They did go after a couple of players that would have helped on the DL but they signed elsewhere(GaSo and Temple I think).

To add insult to injury the coaches using the short comings in the d-line (and sub-par play at center on the OL) as excuses for their teams collapse ever since the end of last year.

It does appear they have learned their lesson, and have been very, very aggressive in trying to shore up any short comings, anywhere going into this year.

They have the most talented team in the SBC, but their coaches are a concern at this point.

You'll have your hands more than full with our current QB.

Haha for sure. Hopefully we get better at ball distribution, but you guys didn't have much of an answer for Ellison in Statesboro last season. He'd come a LONG way since the game in Boone in 2013 (which I'm pretty sure was his 2nd or 3rd start as a freshman).

Just for reference Jayson had 189 total yards in 2007. Last year Ellison had 224. You've got to face Ellison 2 more times. I'm know I'm not looking forward to having to face Lamb 3 more times as he gets better.

That 2007 game was (along with the 1994, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2006, 2008, 2010, 2011, 2012) one of the most exciting games ever. Foster and Edwards really gave everybody their money's worth that day.

It is really amazing that the GS/App rivalry has produced the number of barn burners it has... some of the best games I have ever seen.
