Hud runs a tight ship, this wasn't for anything criminal, simply breaking team rules. Late for meetings, missing class etc. one may have been for Mary Jane.

I do like when players have to face consequences (as in the anti-Winston).

Good for Hud. He's been there long enough to have depth that he doesn't have to worry too much about "individuals", he can focus on the team instead.

I know it has to be done but I always hate to hear about when this kids ruin their lives. Hopefully these three can get it together and transfer to a good school to finish out their football careers.

We were whites 2nd chance, he transferred from USF. CJ bates came from juco last year so he might get another shot. Williams is a true freshman who got here in January so he has plenty of time to get his life in order. Williams was a huge surprise, well spoken humble kid from a military family who was disciplined enoug to graduate high school early and enroll in college early. From what it sounds with him, it's a maturity issue and has trouble being where he is supposed to be and when he is supposed to be there.

RE: Three Cajuns dismissed
I have no inside information but I suspect part of the problem with Williams is that he felt he should start this year and the coaches were likely to redshirt him. Again, just speculation on my part. And for those not familiar with the name, CJ Bates scored the only touchdown in last year's New Orleans Bowl so it wasn't like he was a nobody on the team. And the kid who practically saved the Cajun victory in the previous New Orleans Bowl, Jalen Nixon, sat out the first half of last year for violating team rules. Yeah, Hud's running a tight ship.

I saw a comment on the Cajun fan site by a fellow who'd gotten the tour of the new APC and spent a few moments talking to Hud. He thanked Hud for running such a clean ship and keeping the program out of trouble and Hud commented something along the lines of, we've now got enough people beating on the doors to get into the program that's it's a matter of next man up.

If that's indeed the case, it bodes well for the future.

I definitely like it when coaches hold these guys to a standard, and enforce those standards. To many of these guys think they run the ship, throw enough off the ship and it is just better, for everyone.

Hopefully these kids figure it out and get their crap together, until then they don't deserve to here the cheers for the using the physical gifts they are lucky to have.

White was for something he did in Florida, he was supposedly walking the line while in Lafayette.

Bates I'm not 100% sure, but it's safe to say it wasn't up to the standard the team must follow.

Williams was about playing time and maturity. He can flat out ball, but he was likely 4th on the depth chart and his best chance to help himself and the program was by red shirting. He didn't want to and started to miss classes. Both parties are on good terms, just didn't share the same vision.

Absolutely. I would rather UL lose every game than turn into Thug U.
