Greatest Moment In The History Of The United States
Take your pick. Many can be mentioned. Many can be argued and justified. I think it's close between the Wright Brothers historic first flight in Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina and the landing on the moon. The Wright Brothers achieved in 1903 what no one else could do before them and what eventually turned into commercial air travel, aerial weapons of war and the space program. The landing on the moon was a "middle finger" to the Russian space program that was kicking our butts early on and just the sheer magnitude of men walking around on a surface other than our earth was pretty damn amazing for 1969. By the way, no other country has done it since.

I think I'd agree with that.

How about the signing of the Magna Carta from which much of the language of the US Constitution is taken from and completed in the nation from which many Americans can trace their ancestry.

Otherwise the creation and signing of the Constitution would take presedence

RE: Greatest Moment In The History Of The United States
Going to have to go with the moon landing. Probably take the Civil Rights Act of '64 as a close second, but I just think the moon landing was so iconic. I mean who didn't fantasize at least once about becoming an astronaut. Space being the great and final frontier, the Apollo missions just symbolized man's relentless pursuit of the knowledge even in the face of overwhelming uncertainty. The moon landing is one of those rare moments in which, you as the observer, don't find yourself having to take sides, rather you can just sit there in awe of the courage and genius of those men and women who partook in it.
