RE: Franklin, "just average" according to the Slappies
I think we are going to see Franklin get more TOTAL yards this year... but he's going to probably get a significant bump in receiving yards out of the backfield and likely will take a drop in running yards from straight hand-offs... I have a feeling that we are going to see some new wrinkles in this offense this year... PJ and staff likely going to keep things moving forward and throwing different looks in there so nobody else can feel comfortable against them... Therefore I think you are going to see Franklin take more options where he stays in to block for a sec... then rolls out and into space...

Im also looking forward to seeing some of the other young backs take some shots this year...

Anxious to see who fill's Phillips spot as the 3WR...

Quote:Courtesy of Phil Steele, average running yards allowed last season:
MSU: 88
OSU: 141
GSU: 154
Three-game total: 38

Franklin's yards in the games you cited a season ago:
VT: 76
Purdue: 163
Idaho: 211
Three-game total: 450

MY PREDICTION
VTech->MSU: 75 (about the same)
Purdue->OSU: 85 (-78 yards)
Idaho->GSU: 125 (-86 yards)

So about 165 yards less (about 13.75 yards less a game, all other things being equal)

But if Franklin's healthy season-long this time AND better -- he'll still beat last year's total rushing yds.

Avg Defensive Rushing Yardage 2014:
Va Tech 145
Purdue 192
Idaho 246
TOTAL AVG= 583
583-383=200yds

My Franklin's 3 game (MSU,@ Ga Southern, @OSU) Guesstimate=280 yds.
MSU 65 yds
OSU 85 yds
Ga Southern 130 yds

Those numbers indicate a rise in the Davis/Braverman stats. I'll take that.

Agree.

Hoping we see more screens and TE usage.
