CBSSN 12 day selection windows
http://www.cbssportsnetwork.com/sites/pd...e_2015.pdf

American 12 day selections (all times Eastern)
9/26 12pm
10/3 12pm
10/10 3:30pm
10/17 7:30pm
10/24 4:30pm
10/31 7pm
11/7 7:30pm
11/14 7pm
11/21 7pm
11/28 12pm

No Black Friday game. MAC will have that slot. All 3 American games should be on ESPN nets.

10/31 7pm Tulane @ Memphis
11/7 7:30pm -- USF @ ECU
11/14 7pm -- Tulsa @ Cincy (CBSSN will have 3 out of 5 AAC game)
11/21 7pm -- Tulane @ SMU
11/28 12pm -- UConn @ Temple

RE: CBSSN 12 day selection windows
Looks like they picked up the 15 game max again...not including Navy home games under their separate deal. As far as predicting games, normally I wouldn't bet against SMU as CBSSN has shown them unconditional love in the past, but if either Navy @ Memphis (11/7), @ Tulsa (11/21) falls to CBSSN, they'd probably take it.

Saw this in a Navy Q&A

Aresco:
Quote:We are very excited about [the AAC's] new deal with ESPN, where most of our games will air on one of their networks, with many of our games being broadcast in primetime on Thursday and Friday nights. We also have an agreement with CBS Sports Network for them to air some of our Saturday games. Our TV deal makes sure that every AAC regular-season game is broadcast nationally.

I may be reading too much into it, but a couple of AAC conference games fell to ESPN3 last year...would be an improvement to limit that platform to FCS/OOC matchups.

I think that ESPN3 counts as a national broadcast so I don't think there is a way to prevent conference games from being on ESPN3. Our season opener against Nova is on ESPN3 but also got picked up by SNY, so I there is a chance that local RSNs could pick up some others as well.

I thought Aresco went over this a while back, ESPN3 does not count I don't believe.

This is what Matt Sarz has for the AAC so far. No conference hames have fallen to ESPN3:

Correct. ESPN3 does not count as "nationally televised". Remember that this was originally an NBC deal and ESPN was trying to match a ridiculous level of exposure by NBC. NBC has no "ESPN3" equivant. The ESPN-3 games are at best a match for games NBC was going to send to Comcast regionals---which would never be considered "national tv". Under our old deal I think ESPN-3 was generally for games on ESPN Regional or games with no coverage at all.

I see Aresco is now calling the conference the "AAC" in interviews. Does this mean that we're moving away from "officially" calling the conference "The American"?

It's presumptuous to select your own nickname. Nicknames just happen. It was always going to be AAC. If that spelled something better than "Aak" then it might b a spoken word like the MAC". "Aak" doesn't have much of a ring to it.

ESPN 3 games do not count towards our Broadcast agreement for a minimal number of games televised on national television. ESPN 3 will air all games not picked up for national broadcast.

Oh I know that, but I'm just saying do you not remember the big schtick that the conference administration went on about saying that this conference wasn't the "AAC" but the "American Conference." I know naturally the conference was always destined to be the AAC, but I was just mentioning that its interesting that he gave up on that so quickly.

UCONN was picked to finish next to last place in last year's preseason AAC poll. Despite this rank, UCONN played in 3 of the Top 10 G5 ratings games (including UCONN at USF). I highly doubt ESPN gives CBSSN that many UCONN games this coming year. UCONN may have a horrible product right now, but people still tune in. 07-coffee3
