It's been quite a ride...and I hope I can still enjoy the journey for another few decades.
I can appreciate the value in that and here's hoping that you witness MANY more years. Memphis had already been playing 57 years before I saw my first game (a loss to #8 Ole Miss) but I have since lived thru considerable "program building" (along with many set-backs) at UofM including the 2nd-ever win over Ole Miss and our first wins over such present-day "P5" programs as Alabama, Auburn, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia Tech, Miami, Missouri, South Carolina, Tennessee, USC, and Virginia Tech plus 7 bowl games. "Hope springs eternal in the breast of a Memphis Tiger". Adversity is a part of life - including college athletics.
I actually love the fact that Ive been here for all 17 years of USFs. I can remember the announcement. I can remember the first game and our addition to the Big East. I remember all the HUGE games we have won and when ESPN began referring to us as giant killers. (given they said we werent consistent but ruined peoples years)
Its been a hell of a ride and Ive been able to be a part of all of it. Were always an underdog and it makes any victory even more sweet.

Many UConn football fans feel the same sense of ownership with our program. Our success was pretty immediate and surprising and we've enjoyed playing the role of the underdog and winning many games where nobody gave us a shot. It would be great to have a long tradition but there is also something special to having witnessed everything since the move up. The last 4 years have been terrible but if we can start to turn it around this year, I think our fans will respond.

Uconn will be back... and if you do fire your coach and Hire Schiano I will hate you forever. Given, I think that man could do alot for your program. If he can make Rutgers a success, he would do wonders for Uconn.
