RE: Fleck on Huge podcast
If you listen to the Jack Harbaugh interview take note of his backhanded slam against Western Michigan.

Proceed with caution... not only will you hear Fleck speak, you'll also hear Huge BE the dumb-jock stereotype.

He told about winning at WKU and then said, "Building a winner is a process that takes time. I only wish Western Michigan had thought I was good enough to let me finish the job." It as PURE SARCASM.

I refuse to listen to Huge. He's a know-nothing, egotistical, blowhard.

I even stopped drinking Miller Lite because they sponsor him.

He's an idiot. He lost more games every year he was here, was running the program into the ground.

Five years was more than enough time.

One of my former assistants played for him as a freshman, later was a captain for Molde. Told me the players hated Harbaugh.

It was clear this irritates him 40 years later. If scUM gets good under JH and we played them I could see Crazy Jim running it up.

RE: Fleck on Huge podcast
After five years at WKU Jack's record was worse than it was here and the administration was talking about dropping the sport.

Being located where it is, WKU has always been more of a basketball school anyway.

In 1994, with NCAA approval, Jim started working for his dad as an unpaid recruiter and assistant coach during spring practice while continuing his NFL career.

He is credited with recruiting many of the players on Hilltoppers' 2002 D-IAA NC team.

So may have been Jim that saved Jack's bacon in Bowling Green, not administration thinking he was good enough to let him "finish the job."

Yes. When Jack was fired Jim was interviewed by WWMT and as is his wont shot off his mouth, lambasting WMU in no uncertain terms.

Say what you will about them, Harbaughs are a tight-knit clan.

I didn't get the same backhand slam from that conversation. He was responding to a question about what he has gleaned from watching his son's go on to head coach all the way to the NFL level and how he wishes he could have taken some of what he has learned back to when he coached previously.. mentioning that he may have survived longer at WMU if he had some of the knowledge he has now after watching his son's over the years...

If I was Huge, I would have said, "So, finishing the job. Hitting .500? Enough time would be, what, 5 more years? Not bad. 10 years to get back to .500. Sounds like a dream."

Hack Harbaugh was the ABSOLUTE WORST Head Football Coach WMU ever had. He managed the difficult 'accomplishment' of having a worse record every season than the season before-for 5 straight seasons. Then complained when he was fired.

He's the biggest dick among the Harbaugh clan and that's saying a lot. At least Jim and John have won something to make up for their big mouths, Hack never did.

When he was dismissed, players, fans and Alumni breathed a sigh of relief. What an A-whole.

'Finish the job'?! What was left for him to finish, 0 wins in a season??

This is Harbaugh's record at WMU:

1982 - 8-2-2
1983 - 6-5
1984 - 5-6
1985 - 4-6-1
1986 - 3-8

What, he was suggesting the bust-out season would have been 1987???

He couldn't Coach, he couldn't pick competent asst. coaches, he couldn't recruit, he couldn't focus, he though the MAC was small-time, he had a BIG MOUTH and Program Donations suffered badly under him.

Outside of that he was a great head coach. 03-banghead

Your mostly correct, although one of his assistant coaches went on to become a head coach and win a Super Bowl

RE: Fleck on Huge podcast
Jack Harbaugh hired Greg Mattison who has been DC at Notre Dame, Michigan, and Florida. Won a NC ring at latter.

He hired Mike Hankwitz, who later won NC as DC at Colorado.

He hired Brady Hoke who, like him or not, became coach at Michigan.

Also Tony Samuel, who rose through the ranks to become HC at two schools.

Harbaugh didn't hire incompetent coaches. HE was an incompetent head coach when here.
