Now this is why I read message boards.
Truth stings a bit sometimes.

She's actually not allowed in the room when they discuss C-USA teams.

Exact same rules apply to everyone on that committee, but who else has the problems we do? In a u help me i help you situation like that committee, she has failed. Many of the head coaches in this league begging that she not get this job.

Really? Is that a quote from todays issue of "The Gold Standard," or is it speculation?

I think CUSA not getting at large bids recently is more of an us (CUSA mbb) problem than a MacLeod problem. ODU could have gotten an at large last season after going 11-1 ooc and 6-1 against top 100 teams, but we crapped the bed against some lower rpi teams on the road in conference. IMO, that is what cost us an at large, not MacLeod.

Besides, we all know that basketball does not drive the CUSA bus; it sits quietly in the back.
No it came from a one on one conversation with one of the head coaches at Southern miss. who by the way has discussed this situation with several cusa coaches on the summer recruiting trail. Including yours.

According to a pretzel vendor that I spoke with in Birmingham this past March -- one who had had a number of one-on-one conversations with Southern Miss coaches and staff -- you guys are planning on switching to transgender uniforms next season.

See how easy that is.

There is truth, and there is rumor and hyperbole. Regarding CUSA coaches "begging" that MacLeod not be hired, I have seen the latter, but not the former.

I appreciate Thegoldstandard relaying the conversation he had with one of USM's head coaches, but most of us know there is a thing called coachspeak. What a coach says to a fan in a private conversation regarding things like this is often not a good indicator of how they act and talk in a more formal and official conference setting.

You odu guys are a trip. I see now why obama took virginia last election.

Sorry you cant handle what is the truth to others. But my wifes best friend for over 25 years happens to be one of our head coaches and she also has served as an officer for the booster club of that sport for a dozen years. When that coach tells us something, its not coach speak. It is what she feels and believes.
It is possible for a credible source of information to be someone other than the odu beat writer.

Yeah nobody ever wants to believe when someone actually has a good source because of so many posters making all these predictions that never are close to what actually happens.

My wife actually worked in the Memphis Athletic office at the time Tulsa was going to announce leaving CUSA and going to the American and WKU was the replacement for Tulsa.

I announced this a few weeks before this actually took place on the Sun Belt board and an Arkansas State fan posted no way this was going to happen and how would a Memphis fan know this?

Real simple: Memphis had just left CUSA and was in the American so they could
surely know changes in both conferences.
